ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Yeah direct fit. You also need the PT6 ECU from a 92-93 EX to activate the secondaries on the intake manifold , plus the IAB.

you'll want to get the header from a A4 since that was a tubular design. the A1 and A6 were cast manifolds. you should try and get the A6 cam along with the intake mani and ECU. with those installed, you should be seenig around 140-145 HP.

here man, check this thread out:

could someone please, please sticky this thread?

yes, you can leave everything the same. all you need is the A4 header and downpipe. i'm pretty sure they came in the 90-91 EX's.

and expect close to a 5 horsepower gain. not much, you won't even feel it. although coupled with the A6 parts, it'll be a lot more noticeable. it'll be around 5 horses as that was apparantly the only difference between the A1 and A4.

no. the A6 exhaust manifold was identical to the A1 manifold. or really close to it.

in order to get the power increase to 140, you need the A6 camshaft, intake manifold, and ECU. those alone will bring you to 140, since it's basically converting your engine to an A6. with the A4 headers, it'll be close to 145. that's a nice gain from the 125 you got right now!

honestly though man, read the thread i linked to a couple posts back. it answers a ton of questions, and tells you how to gain a bunch of power for relatively cheap.

I would not say switching the A6 Exhaust manifold to an A4 one will give extra 5 horses. Remember that the A4 and A6 exhaust manifolds are identical EXCEPT the way it looks. A4 is more of a tubular and the A6 is more like of the A1 surface structure. However , both A4 and A6 manifolds are 4-2-1 design. If you switch both either manifolds to the A1 engine , yeah it will give extra power.

Yeah we hear that A4 manifold is quite better than the A6 but so far , for me I have not seen any proof that the A4 is better than the A6. Overall both manifolds are better than the A1 of course.

i beat you to it a few posts back.

and i was under the impression that the A4 header was the best one. this is just going on what was posted in that thread though. i actually had no idea the A4 and A6 were that much alike. thanks for the info!

I always thought that the A4 was better also, because the tubular design was smoother (more free flowing) than the cast A6 mani. Like DS said, either way it is a 4-2-1 design, so I'd say (in my opinion) maybe a 1-2 hp difference between them.
