ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    I hate the steering....

After driving a sports car for so long, I hate the steering of my accord.

I am thinking of removing powersteering to put some weight into it, what do you all think?

I don't think that getting rid of your power steering is going to make it any more responsive. I believe that it will actually make it less responsive. The only way to get the sport feel out of an Accord is to replace the stock touring suspension with a complete sport suspension. Struts, springs/coilovers, 22mm swaybars and Bushings.

No power steering is a pain when doing slow turns. I'm used to it so I don't mind.

Power steering is for pussies. I have my pump installed with no belt for maximum resistance. It's good for your arms.

Indeed. My arms started to shape up when I had my power steering off.

What are you people talking about power steering is less responsive. You feel every bit of the road when you don't have power steering. Its power steering that stabilzes the steering so it feels neutrul.

As for an accord not being a sports car. Tell that to your insurance.

An accord EX is classified as a sports sedan. ahahahhaha.

                        Do you think or KNOW?

Power steering takes away feel from the road.

Its not for everyone, but if you dont want it ditch it. Its not that hard, and you get used to it, and eventually youll prefer it. When i drove another car, i was always like wtf is this, why cant i feel the road in my hands?

I tried running with the PS belt removed. The car is steerable but I'd hate to drive it in city driving like that as it's just too heavy (and I am reasonably strong).

Increasing caster angle creates a fairly substantial increase in steering feel and steering response. Stock caster is 2° to 4° (supposedly), my car initially had 1.7°, now has close to 5° (haven't actually measured it since I increased it, only estimated from suspension schematic). Steering is slightly heavier, significantly more responsive, better front grip (less understeer), and has better road feel.

Caster can be increased by shortening the radius rods, but you need to be careful, there is a limit. This is because shortening the RR pulls the lower control arm forward and creates an angularity at the inner control arm bush, and too much angularity will stress the bush and shorten it's life (possibly).

Increaseing caster in this way pulls the wheel forward in the wheel arch, making the forward gap smaller than the rearward gap, which looks slightly strange, but doesn't worry me in the least since I know it looks that way for a good reason...
                            Regards from Oz,
                            John.
