ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

For the last three years my cb7 has seen triple digit speeds on the regular. 118, 120, w/e the limiter is set at would be my top speed. Its better than my last two cars though. My 1st car (Nissan Sentra GXE) could barely do 110, and my 2nd car (92 Pontiac Grand Prix SE) was electronically limited to 110, which took nearly forever to attain, since it only had a 3 speed automatic.

why would you even take your car past 80? i dont see a point in it at all highway or street. either way it doesnt matter, my cars maxes out at 110 thanks to the jdm ecu i'm actually thankful for it

Ive had my cb to 120mph. haven't you noticed how the cb's get quiet when you've winded them out?
Wife: "Why do you get G power platinum and i only get V power?"
Me:"Cause i have the high compression 93 octane only H22 and you have the bullet proof F22."
        Wife:........................"But yours are prettier"

        ---------------------------------------------------
Wife:Baby, not everybody wants to do the 93 conversion"
Me:YES THEY DO, THEY JUST DON'T KNOW IT YET.

Ha, yours gets quiet? After I run my cb7 pretty hard it starts idle surging, squeaking and squealing and the brakes warp like crazy.

how many "how fast can I go" threads are there going to be before we add this to like...a general cb7 faq?

if you have the f22a6 and the ecu that came in it...then you limited by wind...130ish...as it does not have the governor.

Of course your speedometer is off so you are actually only going maybe...125ish? I've heard of folks hitting 140 with their f22a6's...I doubt it...of course...again...speedo is off...so even they would only hit 130 maybe

            most importantly...do not try it.

Mine rode nice at 120. IMO, thats kind of how you know your setup is strong...it can handle the rigors of high-speeds without shaking, breaking, or anything otherwise.

And yes, theres plenty of reason to speed. Its simple science: doubling your speed cuts your commute time in half... traffic permitting. I work 30 miles away from where I live. Doing triple digit speeds, I can get there in just over a half-hour. Doing the speed limit, it takes over an hour, and sometimes more if traffic is bad.

Deev, you said that over a 50 mile trip between doing the speed limit and speeding, you only saved 2 minutes? Either, you weren't speeding AT ALL, or your smoking some pretty good stuff, lol. Either way man, if you know what your doing, speeding isn't going to kill anyone, nor is it going to cause accidents. Thats all on the driver, and how they handle/maintain their vehicle. And even more than that, you need to know when, where, and how-to drive your car at those speeds. Its simply not the same as driving 30, or even 60. Little bumps cause you to go airborne, sometimes only on one side. You also need to be prepared for other moving objects coming from anywhere. And I mean anywhere. Most people aren't expecting you to be travel that fast, so keep that in mind.

I do, however, believe that speeding isn't for everyone, and some people are best doing the speed limit for the sake of everyone since they can't manage to drive in a straight line, much less stay in their own lane.

                  Wow, What a reply.
Do you realise that when someone sees you 300meters away in a general 60mph zone, and pulls out onto the road. It takes you about 10 seconds for you to catch up.
If you decide to do 120mph, that number halves down to 5 seconds. The CB will be lucky to drop 60mph in 5 seconds when you hit the brakes w/o locking up, and if you have nowhere to go to avoid the car, its an accident waiting to happen.
And thats not even taking into account the human reaction time.

That is true plus your dealing with an old brake system then you have to realize if your tires are in good condition then you have to take in condition of the road and temps. All these factors and more matter in braking distance. I would say even though my car has ABS I hit it a smidge when I hit 130 on my speedo and it somewhat locked up so I just let it coast. In other words dont rely on your brake system to stop since these are outdated. Another thing you have to factor in is the OTHER driver. Thats what people never factor in. You MIGHT be able to be "
SPEED RACER" but if the other person cant drive for shit your fucked either way. I dont see lots of reasons to speed only reason i see is to prove that you have balls to your teenage buddies. I speed but I dont do it all the time. Always top out at 80 on the highway and follow the residential speed limits. Last thing you want is a kids face in your bumper.

fastest ive ever been in my accord = 135 on the speedo. Stock ex 5spd. it was a scary, but exhilarating feeling.

I had a jeep cherokee back in the day that i hit about 145 on, surprised the hell out of me that it, for one, didnt have a governer, and two, that it could get up that high
