ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    How to remove seam sealer

Is there a chemical or anything you use to remove that sealer stuff that is used over the spot welds on the frame? I need to take out the 5 speed mount bracket, but I dont know how i would remove that crap. Is there an easier way other than just scraping the most you can?

you ca use a rubber insert you use with a drill, thats what I use when I fixed my car dont know whats it called but it looks like a cone with a fitting to put into a drill
and it will just rub it all of including the paint smells horrible but it gets it all off

Are talking about taking out the 5 speed transmission mount bracket. If so just drill all the spot welds with a drill. There on on each side of the bracket not on top that I can remember. Then just pry it off.

yea, thats what im talking about, but for some reason, just 2 spot welds dosent sound right to hold on the mount bracket. But there is still that silicone crap (which i beleive is called seam sealer), that covers all the edges where 2 peices of metal meet all over the engine bay.

Wire wheel bit for a drill works A1. A better one is the black sponge looking body panel rust remover bit. That's what I used on a lot of my seams along with a 1/2 wide wood chisel. The only way to get into the tight spots where a wire wheel or other bits can't go is to scrape with a trusty flathead screw driver. Or a wood chisel, as I mentioned, works better than a screw driver. That is as long as you don't care about the blade maybe getting bent or chipped.
