ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

this is what i was talking about before. what fun is it to make a fast car faster? why not take a slow car (like a cb7) and make it stomp those fast cars out there. just cause its not meant to be fast doesnt mean it cant be.

i love the fumes an heat lol, makes me feel at one with the car people who dont believe in stripping there cbs good for you civics were not meant to be stripped down either, nor where tegs an anything else on the market. you take the car an make it what you want it to be. since i dont ride alot of people anyways, taking out my backseats have done no harm. what i have done is a very light weightloss, nothing to over the top.

A civic with 70 HP IS slower.

Also, I don't really give a shit what you guys do. I think stripping out a 4 door car on the pretense of making it faster is stupid. It would be easier to accomplish with more power, and you STILL have a usable car in the end.

If you can't make it fast with the interior in, then you can't make it fast.

P.S. I have beaten more than 1 stripped ass accord WITH more mods than I had AND a 5 speed when I had my F22. Full interior, full sound proofing, AC, Power steering, AND a system.

Clearly there is more to making a car fast than stripping it out. He had a driver's seat and a peice of black fabric to cover the whole rear end of the car.

alright this is what i have done mate, just stripped out the boot and resprayed it, i noticed abit of a difference, getting rid of the big system, tools and other junk, plus it looks pretty cool haha. prob will leave the interior the way it is but looking at getting some light weight rays or work wheels and all the carbon fiber goodies, maybe a couple of sparcos, should shead some pounds

You take the carpet out, the backseat, the sound deadening, the trunk lining, the passenger seat, the A/C, the power steering, etc etc etc, and what are you left with?

A single seat Civic hatchback that STILL weighs 500lbs more than a Civic hatchback fully loaded.

The purpose of the Accord was not to be as light as possible. Unless you are caging that bitch and running it in a specific race class that REQUIRES something like an Accord, you are stupid for stripping it out. End of discussion. A lighter car will ALWAYS be faster with the same HP, and a base model Civic hatch will ALWAYS be lighter than a stripped out Accord. Strip the hatch, and it is even worse.

Strip the Accord and put 200HP in it, and you will be lucky to break out of the 14's. Strip a hatch and put 200HP in it and you should be looking at 12's with a properly running setup. And the hatch will ALWAYS get better MPG, will be more responsive, handle better etc.

                  Simple physics my friend.

I am a bigger fan of the Accord than the Civic, but when you remove the mission that the Accord excels at (being a reasonably fun to drive car that is still roomy and comfortable) you are just wasting a perfectly good car.

This is exactly why I got a Civic. I got into weight reduction and then one day I thought, why not just get a Civic? I got a dx coupe though, still only 130lbs more than base model hatch.

Thats pretty much exactly how stripped mine is.

I still have my rear door panels and roof panel on though. I want to strip it as much as possible but there are certain functions I dont want to lose. As silly as it sounds i want to take off my roof panel but then i still want to be able to keep my dome light as well as the sun visors/mirrors in the front.
