ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Few mods

ok so im sick of everyone around here thinkin there cars are tough, time to upgrade the car.... without a turbo whats a few mods that would make a efficient difference and how much would it run me?

    I/H/E, P12 ECU.

Not a HUGE power difference, but I picked up at least 30 from the above combination. As far as how much you'll spend? It depends on how you buy. I've got less than $100 in mine:
Intake - $10 plus some gas
Header - Free plus some gas
Exhaust - Free plus my stock exhaust, some permatex ultra copper and a bag of mr gasket bolts. and some gas
    p12 - $58 shipped off eBay.

There's a thread on how to add 30 hp for less than $500 around here somewhere. It lists the assorted parts you need from other Hondas. f22a4 header, a6 intake and pt6 ecu, etc... I can't find it though, apparently all the words in the title are too common or too short for the search engine. lol

          I mean that for:
The header, I was going to buy it off craigslist, but the wife gave me the "There are better uses of our money" look, and when I emailed the guy to tell him I had to pass, he told me he couldn't find the header/dp bolts and if I wanted it, I could have it for free. I had to drive about two hours round trip to pick it up.

The exhaust I got from a guy who wanted a stock exhaust to put on the cb7 he just bought as a DD (again off of CL). He wanted to swap for stock plus cash, but I offered him an entire stock exhaust for everything except his header/dp, and he went for that. I had to drive about an hour round trip to pick it up.

The intake is a modified Weapon-R Hyper that I got from a member here for $10 still in it's plastic bag. I had to drive about 4 hours round trip to pick it up.

sounds like you came across a bunch of deals my friend! lol. But about the power mods, i would definatly say intake, 4-2-1 headers with straight or test pipes, and a full catback. Should have some noticable gains. =)

About that ecu, is it a direct replacement for the oem cb7 one? plug and play?

also, would it matter if the car is an automatic and the ecu is from a mtx car?

The ECU is a direct plug and play. It's the only difference in the driveline between the 135hp Prelude S and the 125hp Accord with the f22a1. It is a little larger than the stock pt3, so you'll have to play around with placement. I don't think it will matter, engine control and tranny control are two seperate units.

Would a header from an a4 have more power gains than something off Ebay, some no name one?

i did a quick search for that ecu on ebay. they're not that expensive. would most likly be cheaper at a junkyard though. I think a few posts up someone said it came out of a prelude

One crucial thing about the P12 is that if you have a F22A6 it might be a slight downgrade, because the A6 has a dual runner lower intake plenum. The Prelude S (came with a F22A1) doesn't, and the P12 doesn't control the butterflies that open up the second set of runners. There has been some talk of using an RPM switch or the output from a shift light to activate the runners, but I don't think anyone has done it.

See, what I did...just for experimentation, was...took my Plenum off, and took the screws out of the butterflies...

Helps a little. Low end torque, not so much. But, the butterflies don't open until you're at about 4,800-4,900rpms. (I love the sound it gives once they open ), and with these taken out...I felt more power from about 2,500 to redline. Sounds mean too, buttttt...after I did that, I found a thread on here about that Blacktrax spacer. Kid made a DIY on adding one to his intake manifold, and 1 thing he did was....completely took the butterflies out of the spacer, the rail and everything for the butterflies, and put JB Weld in all the holes, and made it look just like an actual spacer, so...it's pretty much 2 spacers put on the manifold, but with all 8 ports opened at all times. I have an exhaust on my car, and with these butterflies taken out, from 4,000 to 5,000......it's alllll engine. You'd never know I had an exhaust on it. I still wanna add the blacktrax spacer though. Just incase you're curious, here's the thread for the DIY on this thing I'm talking about. Cheap little mod for 5 extra horses, and a deep built'ish sound from the engine.

Oh, and the f22a6 and h23 intake manifolds are the only ones that have this butterfly setup, so don't take your A1 plenum off and wonder where they are. If you're lucky, you could possibly get an A6 or h23 full intake manifold for like..50-70 bucks from www.car-parts.com.
