Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

the amount of money it would cost to swap everything over + fabrication you could drop an h22 and prolly sleeve the block before dropping it in.
so the answer to can it be done: yes
is it worth it in the end: no, unless your doing it for the unique factor

but he also didnt have to have custom axles, mounts and other little stuff that would come up when putting a b series into the cb7.
dropping a b series into a civic is like dropping an h series into a cb7, its basically a bolt in application.

i dont need vtec. wat can i do for the bottom end and like pistons? i would like to build a 400 whp dd turbo using stock bottom end and a nice aftermarket 4G63 turbo manifold, 16g turbo, ignition upgrade, fuel delivery and ecu. i just dont know where to start. i live in the middle of the desert and am new to the area. i just pcs'd here from fort knox KY.
oh ya and all that on pump gasbarstow bitches!! middle of BFE

Your SOHC head flows better than any DOHC you can swp on. It's also cheaper, and more reliable NOT to do a headswap.
The B16 is nearly worthless in a Civic, let alone a car that weighs 600+lbs more. The wiring would be a nightmare, the shifter system uses rods instead of cables (which means you'd have to cut into your floor bigtime), you'd need custom mounts and custom axles.... THEN you'd have to build that worthles, wimpy little powerplant for boost... or your CB7 will be slower than a Smart Car.
Keep this in mind... ANY motor is good with boost. Boost makes power. You can make 250whp EASILY on your stock-block F22A with the right stuff. We even have one guy on here making 400whp on a stock-block F22A. It's a race-only car, and he's extremely knowledgeable... but it's been done.
In short, a B series is a waste of money... as it would cost a LOT of money to do a B swap into a CB7. If you really want a B, get a Civic or Teg.

You'll make 250whp TOPS with a setup like that... and the 16g won't cut it.
Take a look at chessboxer's setup. He's also in KY. He might be able to give you some advice. Before you make any plans, do some research. We have a whole forum based on forced induction here, and you can go on www.homemadeturbo.com and http://forum.pgmfi.org/ to feed your head even more. When you throw out an outrageous horsepower figure, a few generic parts (how are you going to tune that ECU?), and an announcement of your 'plans' people generally won't give you much credit... and therefore, not much help.

I'd trust Bisi's word over just about anybody.
He did not specifically refer to the F22B DOHC in that thread, and I just PMed him about it to see if he can provide more information on the F22B DOHC and F22A comparison.
Honestly, though... Bisi chose the F22A head for a reason. He's not doing it to be cute or different... He's doing it because it's a superior design, and is allowing him to be at the top of the NA SOHC Honda class.

ya that sounds like alot of work for the b series
does antone know if bisi has a shop that i can walk into?
im only like 2 hours from LAand would love to see his motor setup, and maybe get a few tuning pointers. (maybe he has a motor jus lying around i can have, ill clean his shop for 3 years!) jk
ive ooked for the link but didnt see it what is the stock size of th in/ex valves on the f22a4 head? and wats the biggest i can put in after boring it outbarstow bitches!! middle of BFE

ya sorry but im really a noob
i need someone to learn me on how to tune like wat i need as far as an ecu, chip, tuner, software, then what to do when i get all that
plus im stupid as far as knowledge. what is better for boost, higher or lower compressiion? and turbo lag is from when your turbo doesnt move enough air compared to what the engine needs and exhaust is imeded from the turbo right?
sorry im retarded i just want to get an exact plan before i start anything, that way i dont have to drive the wifes neon

b series is a terrible idea.....also if you dont know much about turbos or cars in general study ALOT before you buy stuff. Or get a shop to do it for you however its is much cheaper to do it yourself. You cant play around with turbos or you will waste your motor and alot of money. Research and study FIRST

ya i understand basics, like turbos compress the air so you can add more fuel for more power....i know that 14.7:1 is the "ideal" a/f ratio. i under stand that grounding is just as if not more important than spark. i also understad that cars need a certain amount of back pressure to perform correctly.
its just i dont know how much backpressure, does it change with use of a turbo?
and i see all these "grounding kits" all they are are wire, cant i just go to a speaker shop and get some heavy duty wire like 8 gauge and make my own?
and i see all these people with the dsm turbo setup, if that fits and its off a 4G63, wont a nice like t3/t4 setup with an aftermarket equal length header boltup? ya i get the whole youll have to make a custom downpipe, ill just make a 3'' dameter downpipe to a cat (try to find a nice high flow one) then run like 3'' the rest of the way
but the real issues is my car has 215XXX mile and need to rebuld the engine beorehand.
if i wanna be cheap wats the minumum i need to do before boost, and the other end of the spectrum, if i have it torn apart i might as well rebuild the bottom end.
how do the f22a engines respond to grinding the crank? and i think i seen that H22 rods fit in the f22a block? since im boosting should i increase the pison diameter? wat about stroke.
thanks to all for helping me with all my stupid noob ?'sbarstow bitches!! middle of BFE
