ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    idling up and down

Ok i know that there is a lot of threads on here for this issue but, i need some questions answered. I got my rack and pinion done two days ago, and when i brought the car home, and put it in park, i noticed that the rpm's started going up and down, so i changed off the iac valve, and the fit valve and it's still doing it so question is what next?

Did you tighten the FITV or just change it? It's possible the new one is OOA (out of adjustment) Open it up and turn the internals clockwise until it's snug.

Is that new IACV clean or dirty and clogged? it may be dirty and needs to be cleaned out.

Have you checked the coolant level? I've read that'll make your idle fluctuate

            Its IACV

Mine was doing that for years before I read cb7tuner and fixed it by cleaning it out with carb cleaner

You could have knocked a vacuum line loose. There's some that are molded and some that just don't like to stay very well. Sometimes they crack and leak, too.

it sure will, especially if you do not bleed out the extra air in the hose, i had that idling problem, it was getting on my last nurve, so i did the engine swap thinking there was something wrong with my engine, after the swap was done, i get to red light a about a mile away from where i got the swap done and long and behold, the stupid idle dance crap again, i was about to throw in the towel, and then a few days later i got my entire exhaust done from headers all the way back and the stupid needle dance went away, so im thinking it was an exhaust leak?, i did some work on my O2 sensor also, that might be it, or clean the valve or seafoam it

                well: best of luck

the dude said that he cleaned it out wit carb cleaner, and i changed the fit valve and tightened it til its snug, i am thinking that he could have possibly tapped a vacuum line, but i am gonna try recleaning the iac valve again and see what happens.

Check the raidatior coolant level. I had this problem yesterday. Turned out the overflow tank was clogged somehow.

coolant is topped off and the reserve tank is at the max line. i spent about a bout 45 minutes cleaning the iac valve and the fast idle valve wit carb cleaner and left them to dry so i did not even bother to start it up since then so i will keep my fingers crossed and see what happens. wish me luck.
