ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

fuel pump is less then 2 months old
      fuel filter is brand new

i relay isnt clicking so the pump wont come on if the relay isnt telling it to

The relay or pump may be bad. Just because they're new doesn't mean they can't be defective. It happens, even with brand new Honda parts. Aftermarket stuff makes it even more likely.

The ECU won't have anything to do with the main relay, as far as I know. However, if the CEL stays on, that could indicate a bad ECU. Jump the blue service connector under the passenger side of the dash (towards the side of the car), turn the key to II, and see if the CEL flashes. If it does, count the flashes to learn what error code it's giving you. If it doesn't flash, the ECU may be fried. It's uncommon, but it happens.

Also, check and clean your battery connections and grounds. That would cause a similar problem as well. If you turn you key and get a click, and lose all power, that's definitely battery related.

yeah lately its been bogging and getting really shitty gas milage, it has to be the ECU thats doing it, i put a brand new relay in and a pump....... i went the the store that carries the relays and got 2 and went in the parking lot and put um in, both didnt click and ECU light stays lite. i ripped the ECU out and the light went off........god this car is a hunk of shit

Why don't you pull the code instead of guessing?

You won't go nowhere unless you pull the code because the answer is the code itself.

If you jump the connector to the right of the ecu and the CEL does not blink thats code 0. Thats a defective ECU.

Code 0 will cause the car to run very rich, bogging, no start, and lower rev limiter.

lol you know i apreciate everyones help here, but its funny how people can read you post, then replay with something i already ruled out.i already said its not throwin codes. i got the flow chart on ECU code failure, im going to run threw it and make sure its the ECU, i might even do a write up on it so that way people can stop asking like i am. LOL the flow chart said start at the ECU connector to rule out wiring. another thing im thinking it could be is i just ripped out an alarm system in my car that i didnt even know was there, i might have shorted out one of the ignition wires.

have you tried swapping a diff. ECU in there yet? you're only hurting yourself by not taking our suggestions into consideration.

yeah i did. im taking everyones advice into concideration. i just know its not the main relay because i put 2 brand new ones in back to back. I wish i could swap a known good ECU i dont have any buddies with the same car that would let me try thiers, and i damn sure aint spending 250 bucks on a remaned one just to have it not work that shit would suck. im going to go up there now and rule out wiring, then imma go to the junk yard and grab a tested ECU. probably gonna cost 60-70 bucks but what else can i do?

LoL I had a good chuckle at this one. Of course the CEL light went out. The ECU is what sends the signal to the MIL aka Check engine light to make it light up. No ECU = no light........Yes I'll agree with you that they can tend to be hunks of shit. When people start ripping them apart with no idea what they are doing.

I just want to get this strait, in one sentence you say it's not throwing codes. Then in the next sentence you say that you are going to run through this chart and make sure it is the ECU. You have me a wee bit confused here.

Have you or have you not tried to use your chart to retrieve the codes from the ECU? If the CEL is on when you turn on the ignition that indicates that there are codes stored on the ECU. The light doesn't just start flashing on it's own. You have to use a code scanner or use the jump/short SCS connector method in order to make the CEL flash the stored codes.

You will find it hard to find someone that will be able to give you much help when it comes to chasing down a wiring problem. Specially when you are unsure what has been done to the wiring.

Are there any other wiring gremlins that you have fixed yourself in the time you have owned the car?

Ok , can you show the post where you said you pulled the codes before I posted my first statement?
If you did say it , you were not specific enough to make it understandable.
