Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). possibly an h23 ecu instead?

Sooooooo, pulled the ecu out of the car that I bought about 6 weeks ago. "p12", and the people that I got it from (Henderson Auto), said it was a p12 from a 2.2 prelude. But...after readin' a thread about 10 minutes ago, and a picture of a "p12-a01", I went to google to help the kid out, to see if that was the correct code for the p12 ecu, anddddd came by a problem.

    All these sites are telling me.....the p12 from the f22a1 92-95 prelude...is..
    37820p12a50

Um...then I noticed the same numbers.....but with dashes, suchas..(what ecu I have right infront of me)
    37820-p12-a50

Says the one with the dashes are from the h23a1 prelude. Oh man, what damage could this have done. Oh my, Oh my, Oh my.

If this is correct, than f22a6 people....don't waste your time on an h23 ecu. I was wonderin' why my car was boggin' out when it got warm, and just had no more go. Ran like a champ when it was cool. Runs like shit when it's warm. shit shit shit. It didn't run my butterflies either? The h23 intake manifold has the IAB system also, but this ecu didn't run mine...which it should have.

P14 is for the h23, P13 is for the H22, and the P12 is for the F22a4 in preludes its not good for ex but "lower" accord's it helps them gain 10 hp. there is a thread all about the p12 some were around here.

Yea, I know about the p12 and all. That's why I got it, but I kinda got it to tinker, cause I'm running a pt6 ecu (that came with the car), and wanted to see if I could get any gain from the p12. I'm reading on the same site, the same codes...man, this site must be bullshit. They're gonna screw a lotta people over. HEre's the site I googled.

The p12 is for the f22a1 (not 4, I don't think the f22a4 went into a 'lude) in the Prelude S, and there are several threads around about it.

Gotz - Maybe you just got a bad ecu? This is the sticker on mine, and I don't have any problems.

I think the sites you're looking at just forgot to put the hyphens in. Honda wouldn't have two ECUs with the same numbers, except for hyphens, for two different motors. I've NEVER heard anything about there being a p12 for the h23a1.

*edit* - saw that you posted while I was typing. I looked at that site. They have obviously made an error.
If you still have your pt3, swap it back in and see if you still have the same problems. If you do, it's not the ECU.

The Ecu seems to run fine, but once my car gets warm.....it just started doing it. It ran fine for a bit, but I kept tinkering with it. So, every other day, I was resetting the Ecu. I stopped playin' around with it, and when it gets realllllllllyyyy hot outside, and the car gets warm, it just bogs. Hasn't done it yet (it hasn't been too warm since I put the pt6 back in), and my intake pipe was sitting on my radiator hose that connects to the thermostat. I braced it back to where it's supposed to go, and haven't noticed any yet. Honestly, if it isn't the ecu, I think I have another blown head gasket. Be pretty shitty, if you ask me. Then again, like Deev told me, it could possibly be a downgrade from the f22a6, so maybe once the car gets warm, it isn't giving the car the fuel it's used to, cause I also noticed my gas mileage getting better since I put the p12 in. Now that I have the pt6 in, I smell a little bit of gas, but the car's runnin' fine. But, then again....it hasn't been hot hot outside, like it has been the past couple days.

edit: When I mean bog, I don't mean like...sputter. I just mean, when I try to go (taking off), it just doesn't wanna move. As if the intake's bein' blocked off and can't suck any air in. Does fine when it's cool. This is with the IAB system opened...and closed.

I can't see it starving you for fuel that badly, but maybe having your intake resting on the hot radiator hose could be starving you for air when it gets hot. I don't know how much difference there is between the pt6 and the pt12 fuel map wise. I think the big thing for using the pt6 was to take advantage of the slightly wilder a6 cam and also to activate the butterflies, (neither of which should matter in your set-up, correct?). Oh and of course, no limiter! Take her out and heat her up, see if it's still bogging, if not, swap in the p12 and see if it starts bogging.

Yea, I'll try it tomorrow. My intake hose, I've actually grabbed it one day (my brace is completely useless after my blown head gasket problem on the old engine, taking it off, putting it on, off, on), and I went to grab it one day (when it fell onto the hose), and got grey stuff allllll over my hands. It was freakin' melting my intake. Thing is, I braced the intake back up at the exact time I put the pt6 back in.

I have an f22a1, with a aftermarket header, a6 intake manifold, and pt6 ecu. Only thing I would need for a complete A6, is the cam, but I plan on doing a regrind. Just, everytime I'm about to get it done, something hits my wallet. This time, it was my license renewal (expired), tag (renewal), and inspection. Last time, it was my windshield I busted. haha

Tomorrow I think it's supposed to get warm, so I'll see if it happens again. It's about 50 outside right now, so I don't think it'd do it. My coolant level is fine. Always is with this new engine, so I hope it's not a head gasket issue.

Car runs fine, overall with the p12. Everything works, starts right up, I had to even adjust the idle when I installed it. My gas gauge actually got a bit lower with the ecu, too. (very odd). Normally, when my gas light comes on, it takes 10 gallons. Last few times I've been filling up, it's been taking 11.5

But, anyway...the kid I was tryna help out, has a p12-a01 ecu, and was asking questions about it. That's how I got into this whole ordeal.

edit: Any my butterfly system is back to normal. Wings are in, and the springs back on the system. Opens and closes at 4800 again. It was pretty neat rev'n it up yesterday underneath the hood, and watchin' the clamp open 'em up.

                    Stock ecu or chipped ecu.

There's absolutely no reason to get any other ecu. It's a waste of time and money.

Someone donate a p12 with $50 and I'll go dyno it to prove that the p12 is worthless.

15hp, woo! That's like 2whp. Whooptie doo. You'll get more with a TUNED ecu.

The only reason I probably didn't feel much difference, was because I have an A6. The p12's an upgrade for the a1 and a4. I was just experimenting. 10hp from an ecu, is pretty impressive. That's the kinda power you'd get from a whole I/H/E setup. (On Earth. Not Ricer-Land)

10bhp is NOT impressive. That can be had from changing worn out spark plugs. 10whp is a completely different story.

It's not a huge deal, and people are going crazy for next to nothing... but the P12 is a decent gain if you can get one cheap. I could pick one up for $15. $15 for 10hp is probably the cheapest possible double-digit gain.
