ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    h23 intake manifold

im new tot his site and i noticed people talking about putting a spacer in the h23 intake manifold, do you just take another one off an h23? and does it produce enough power to notice at all?

    Depends on your setup.

If you have an A1 or A4, upgrading to an A6 or H23 intake plenum/runners/throttle body is a great upgrade.

If you have an A6 already, don't bother.

if you have an a6 do bother get the top intake of the h23 with tb and get the butterflies and use the one off the h23 as a spacer. itll flow better than stock you might see a lil gain possibly 5hp if that but its worth it.

OP has an h23a. Get the spacer from another one, delete the butterflies, seal the rod holes (jb weld ftw) some longer bolts and put it in. You should get a little more low end torque.

You want one spacer with butterflies and one without.

or you can both w/o and it will work just fine. the less restrictions of air flow the more POWER just basic engine fundimentals

The belief is that all eight open will actually harm low-end torque. It's not the first time I've heard this, and not just here, but I never understood how having more air available could be bad.

The IAB's or "butterflys" dont open at a certian vacuum. Although they can be setup to do so. The ECU controls when they open, and if you have a tuned ECU you can set at what specific RPM you want them to open. An A6 or H23 manifold have eight ports under the plenum, four square and four round. The square ports are your primaries, the rounds are your secondaries. To aid in low end power your engine runs off the square ports, when you reach higher engine speeds and its more benificial to have more airlofow the ECU opens the secondaries giving you more topend power. Keep the system intact, run one spacer on top of the spacer with the secondaries. As ive read in a few posts earlier "its just basic engine fundementals".
