ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Could be the fuel tank sender unit, with a bit of dirt on the bottom of the sender.
Does the gas gauge read all the way down to empty?

another issue related to the gas light.

My gas light came on when I had the OEM 14 year old factory fuel pump, but it died and I replaced it with a cheap bosch.

Ever since then, when my tank gets to about 1/3 its effectively "OUT OF FUEL" even though its not. I cannot get more then 13.1 gallons in it at that point and its very close to empty. So close that it will studder and sometimes fail to start. I'm guessing the new fuel pump isn't able to pull fuel out of the bottom of the tank aswell as the OEM. So for my cb7, 1/3 with no gas light = GET FUEL NOW or you will be walking.

Yea, could possibly be the sending unit, like stated above.

And I have the same issue 90H has. Once my needle gets to the 1/3-1/4 tank mark, my gas light comes on. With the car completely out of gas, it'll only take 10.8 gallons. So, that's telling me that my pump isn't the pump from 1991, therefore...I know it still has life, but it's makin' my gas tank look really tiny. A unit isn't hard to replace. You can do it yourself, without droppin' the tank.

Mine was fine, I could run it till empty on the OEM pump. I replaced it with a bosch b/c it was ALOT cheaper, and now I can only run it till 1/2 of a tank or it will die.

No worries, I just keep mine above 1/3 tank, no problems
