ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Advice/optons wanted

I'll be doing a timing belt, water pump, seals, gaskets, intake, a whole lot of other shit within the next few weeks.
My question is while I have everything apart should I go ahead and throw an A6 camshaft in or possibly an aftermarket.
I'm currently running a P12 ECU, but have a PT6 laying around as well.

Basically I'm looking for the best options/combos while I have most everything apart.

I'm no expert, but posting a budget, what you want out of your upgrades, and the quality of your existing parts (how long before they need to be replaced anyway) would help.

if you got the extra cash then YES.

you already have a good portion of it apart, just do it all at once and save yourself the time. especially if it is in your plans further down the road.

      Bought from: Bisimoto, FuncOvrForm, HondaGuy1212, wed3k, Konigstiger, 1st2run, BillKisme, k-mart, benjerman112

I was looking at spending no more the $400 for all the parts, and that includes all of the gaskets, timing belt, etc. But my budget is always changing, so it might be more or less when I actually get around to doing it.

Of course I am wanting more get up and go. Basically trying to get the most out of this baby without swapping motors...

The timing belt was done by the original owner around 120K (I wanted to kill him when I heard that) so the belt only has 40K on it right now. It could go a little longer but I have an oil drip that I am pretty certain now is the counter shaft seal. So it needs replaced asap.

F22A1. I was planning to install the H23 TB/plenum with A6 runners when my oil drip cropped up, so it looks like more is going to get changed.

The P12 was a fast and fun little upgrade, guess I'll be putting it up for sale and using the PT6 so I can get the benefits of the A6 cam. Or should I look into a aftermarket cam...? Hmm... need more money.

with a Bisi cam wouldn't you need to redo/upgrade the valvetrain?

No, but I believe it's highly recommended. I'd be ordering the Pro springs with it though. Stock retainers will be used.

I'll hit you up with a PM when I go to sell it.
I was thinking about going with an A6 cam, just that a Bisi cam would work well for my future plans down the road.

Will do it during this whole process.

So right now my real question is should I just go with an A6 cam or go with a Bisi level 1 or 2 cam and reek the benefits of it down the road as more $$$ comes in... hmm.

                          Surface rust on camshaft...

How bad does the rust have to be before the camshaft isn't worth two cents?
Can't light surface rust be taken care of without any problem?

i'd say it wouldn't be worth it when the surface is all pitted from the rust.

for now i'd say get a spare cam send it off for a regrind from Delta, then sell off that regrind when you have the money for the Bisi down the line.
