ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

JDM F22A 2.2 SOHC VTEC Swap....???

hey people..im planning to do a h22 swap but its too expensive...i was wondering if a JDM F22A 2.2 SOHC VTEC will fit into my 91 accord 2dr lx.???anyone of you guys can help me???

F22A's don't have VTEC. You are probably thinking of the F22B SOHC VTEC which is VTEC for fuel economy NOT performance as like with the H22A.

EDIT: If you ARE asking about the F22B VTEC, then yes you can swap it in but it isn't really worth it from what I have read. BUT that is from what I have READ and HEARD though. Not from experience. There are more eligible choices than just the H22. You should try researching a little more.

The F22A came in the JDM 91-93 Accord Wagon, its the JDM version of the F22A6.

I looked on Tiger Japanese, and H22A's can be had for $750 without transmission, you can just hook it up to your accord trans. link here

The F22A's can be had for $890 link here

Or you can rebuild the F22 you already have for cheap and slap in a good (bisimoto) cam and do some head porting. That would put you at about 150-170 whp, depending on which way you go with your setup. Thats pretty much what a stock H22 would put out.

Research my friend, and you will discover everything you need here. I figured out everything I needed to know about my wagon from this forum.

                Paper work?

Oh, and it's VTEC Honda never incorporated toys into their engines.

The F22B1 (F22 VTEC) is the same amount of work. Same wiring, same mounting issues, same everything.

However, the F22B1 is a garbage engine that only has 5hp more than the F22A6, and significantly less potential.

THE F22B1 IS NOT AN UPGRADE!

f22 vtec isn't worth swapping. people have done it, but i know this guy who jumped off a house with a bag to see if he'd float and that was a bad idea too. dude was a dipshit, too much mary poppins.

the h22 is actually one of the easiest honda swaps there is.
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

Especially in the CB7. It's easier in the CB than any other Accord. The CD is close, but we have it better.

IMO the F22b1 is awesome for boost whilst the H isnt in some cases....If you want to go the boost route one day in the near future then F22b is your bitch....Wanna go all motor then H22a ftw!!
