so i'm drivin my car and all the sudden the car starts jerkin hard like makin the whole car bounce. cel is off. so i floor it and it seems fine. try like higher/lower gears (5 speed) to try to get it to stop jerkin. some times its soft then gets hard but it varies. it eventually goes away and my cel comes on. i forget the code #s but i know its 3 of them and one says its the o2 sensor. then light goes off when i take the car out another time but idles really low like almost stalls out. like maybe 100rpm. my car has its days and does this sometimes. do i really need an o2 sensor or is it something else. dont wanna waste my money.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

If you used a cheap universal o2 sensor (like a Bosch splice-on one from an autoparts store), you may find that it doesn't work properly. Our cars are very picky about o2 sensors, and OEM Honda ones are the best.Originally posted by ali954 View Postok i replaced the o2 sensor so im guna see how it is for a while.
I have a similar jerking problem. I changed the chip in my ECU to a richer map (not really an option for you, I suppose..) and it fixed it. That leads me to believe it may be a fuel issue. However, my o2 sensor is ancient, so it may be that as well.
Additionally, who did your swap? Are you sure everything is done correctly? Is it an obd1 or obd2 engine (1996 or newer is OBD2).

it is a bosch but its for my car. no splicing of connectors or anything.
idn who did the swap but it is an obd1. the ecu is original to the car. today when i swapped out the o2 sensor i found something very strange tho. there was two o2 sensors. both before the cat. so just have one hooked up. still seems good.
i know for a fact that things arent done correctly. like the driver side motor mount was the original one for the car and was only bolted with one bolt because the mounts holes are too far apart. it cracked so i got the mount for the motor and had to grind it down to the fit in the car, bent my power steering pulley in the process (still needs to be fixed), but got it on then turn the car on and my crank(i think it is) was grinding on the wheel well! so i cut a hole in the wheel well and now its good...i guess. motor got a baby gangster lean. lol. i think im guna take pics and make another thread to show yall.

Wow, sounds like a total halfass job... there are probably a ton of problems with that. The Bosch sensors are garbage. That probably won't work for your car. NO Bosch sensors seem to work correctly (cue dumbass saying "mine workz fine yo!"
IF the mounts aren't right, then there is DEFINITELY an issue... something that should be fixed ASAP.

well i seems to be working fine for now and if the same shit happens to my car again then i'll take it off and get a new one/my money back with my lifetime warranty.
and i know how to do that motor mount to make sure the motor is level. gotta take out the CC(for good hopefully, it dont work anyways), put a jack under the motor and take out the motor mount. then just drill a hole like an inch or so lower in the bracket for the mount then put it all back together.
just too lazy/ have more important things to do.
the other 2 mounts are the same tho. the front one actually broke like a week or 2 ago. when i tried to rev it a little the motor like lagged up and wanted to stall out. since i got 2 pretty new mounts i might get the 3rd one soon, because i know that one is pretty bad condition.

WHAT? Your engine and tranny are installed poorly, leaning at an angle, and you're too lazy/ have more important things to do? It's entirely possible that your piss poor mounts are letting the motor and tranny shift around, putting the drive axles in a bind, causing you to jerk around. You're going to end up breaking your engine and your tranny.Originally posted by ali954 View Postjust too lazy/ have more important things to do.
