ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

92 Accord: Odd Sputting at Warmup, CEL comes on, however no codes show when checked.

My brother-in-law has a 92 honda accord. After the car has warmed up, it starts to sputter occasionally, and the CEL comes on.

Following the CEL check procedure on your website I am unable to see any codes.

Any Ideas how to get the codes out of it? Also where should I been looking first.

If the CEL is on, there has to be at least one code.

        ECU reset, no difference.

I forgot to mention, when I jumper the blue, the CEL light does not stay on solid (goes out after 3 sec's). Also if I turn off and turn on the car, the cel goes away.

It does generate a cel after running for 20 min, so you would think the ECU would have to be working. The CEL goes away everytime the car is shut off and restarted.

Did you check the distributor and spark plugs? sounds like an ignition issue. a bad fuel filter can do this also

replaced the spark plugs/wires/distrib, problem still there.

Why i am thinking it is the o2 sensor, in b/c it only has problems with the engine is warm, and been running for a couple min... I debating s/c the sensor to see if the hesitations will go away. If I shut of the car ans restart it the cel goes away, and the car runs good for a couple min, sputters, cel comes on.

                    Check your fuel filter.
O2 sensor defect will give you a code.
Keep trying to get the code. If you are not able to , get a space ecu and put it in.

yeah, a bad ECU will throw a CEL but will have no code when checked. Do you have another ECU from a friend or something you can test?

you don't need a computer to check you CEL codes. just find the blue two-pin harness that isn't connected to anything under the passenger kick panel. then jump it with a spare wire or a paperclip. the CEL light will flash.

if it is on for two seconds count that as 10. then count the short pulses as ones. add together and you got your code.

so for example, mine shows me a VTEC solenoid code. it's 21. thats two long pulses, and one short one. there is also a whole DiY on how to diagnose what each code means.
