ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Got a 90 Accord

It looks like I'm about to have a 1990 accord. It is from a relative and will be mine soon. I'm not sure if it's a DX or EX etc, it doesn't say lol. It has power windows and locks, and it's a 5-speed. I have a few questions about it because it needs a lot of cleaning, they didn't take the greatest care of it. One question is how do you remove the back seat? The carpet in the trunk is underneath/on the back of the seat and it is wet. Whoever had the car in the past ran wires for an amp to the trunk, and it looks like they had the amp under the driver's seat. I'm going to pull out the seats and remove all of the wiring. They also hacked up the radio connections and there is no radio. It needs some tlc. It is a aqua/teal green color painted over what looks like silver/tan. The interior is kind of ugly with the red but not too bad, at least it's tolerable.

There is already a CAI on it but it really needs a new filter. It idles up and down when you start it which I'm guessing probably has to do with a dirty intake sensor. I want to run some seafoam through it but I couldn't figure out which vacuum line to run it through. I've never had a foreign car before so the engine bay looks a little intimidating at least the way it's arranged. Right now I have a 95 mustang but it's a piece and gets terrible gas mileage, that's why I'm picking up this car. I just needed a cheap car to get me to work in the snow. My fiancee has an 07 cobalt so this will be our backup, but for the price I might as well have a little fun with it

Any things I should be leary about with this car? Or at least things I should really know or get checked out? Thanks

If it has power windows and locks but no sunroof, odds are, its an LX. As for the seats...

The idle is probably a simple fix.

Welcome to the site, just do a search for any questions you have. Most basic questions have already been sticky'd but don't be afraid to ask if you can't find it. Post pics when you get her home.

I cleaned her up the best I could yesterday. Washed out the engine bay, spent forever vaccuming the interior and cleaning, then washed and waxed it. The trunk still hasn't been touched though. I'll be getting to it on Wednesday when I go home for Thanksgiving break. Hopefully will have my insurance transferred over to it by the end of the week. I'll also get some pictures of it on Wed. It has mirror tint on it that I think looks really good with the paint color, but damn Kansas has all mirror tints illegal... I think I'm going to have to get a steamer to take that stuff off.

Anyone have a carfax account? I tried to post in the carfax thread but it says I don't have sufficient privileges to do so.

looks pretty good. kinda fuzzy, but, its got 188k mls? if its runs smooth, and the timming belt is good, should run good for a while. clean it up.definately needs its fitv adjusted.
dont be scared to work on it. the basics are still there. 4-stroke, ign., give it gas... just like the old days. lol. there are alot of great people here, and always willing to help. The aftermarket for these cars is strong. so, parts are relatively cheap. these accords are prolly as common as beetles were 25 years ago.
                you'll love my nuts!

The link to take the seats out are for the front seats so here is how to remove the back seat. First you take the bottom part out. You have to pull the back of the seat up and push the seat belts thru the openings. The front of the seat has hooks that just hook into holes. Once the bottom is out you have to tilt the back part forward and undo the clips that hold the fabric to the seat. Once the fabric is all separated, there is 2 bolts at the bottom of each side of the seat. I think that is it from what i remember.

Nice LX coupe. I see the car has been repainted.... Does the engine bay match the outside because that is an odd color combo. It looks like you are part of the family now. Welcome to the site.
