ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

1. Every car and person is different.
2. Every car acts differently.
3. DO NOT DUMP the clutch.
4. Tires and suspension play a big role on how high you can launch.
5. 5k is pointless for your car unless you have some sort of grippy tire.

I use slicks and I have a stock clutch and its lowered 2 inches and the tire pressure I'm not 2 sure my brother handles that and most of my adjustment.. he think launching at 5000k is perfect..I don't think so.Last edited by AcCoRdKiD916; 12-26-2008, 01:09 AM.

I launch at 4k-4500 with street tire. It hooks up pretty good. With the F22A6 I did close to 4k launches but I had some good tires to go with it.

if you can maintain traction then launching high is good. if you spin drop it down more.
the suspension is more than just how low you are. i have adjustable shocks on my car and it made a huge difference when i played with teh settings to launch.
generally the highest rpm you can do while maintaining traction is best. if you dont spin at 5k, launch at 5k. it will beat on your clutch and axles though. slicks especially put a load on the axles, and the transmission itself.
try this. jog backwards. then without stopping, break into a forward spring. thats a very small representation of what everything from your tires through your engine is going through on a hard launch

you preload the drivetrain. dumping the clutch breaks parts.Originally posted by h2290cb7 View Postlaunch it at 7k haha. na i launch at 4k and get bad tire spin but thats cuz i dump the clutch lol. i have no idea wat a good launch would be...maybe in the low 4's

I would say 3500 to 4000. I wouldn't launch any higher than that because you just get wheels spin. I get well spin sometimes just normally, just mess around with different lanuch rpms at the track and see which one produces a faster 60ft time.
