ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    misfire help????

I just got my 2nd 1993 cb7. Its the f22a1 with 233K miles on it. It fires right up and doesnt smoke. But it runs and has a misfire. Now the guy I got it from recently put in new plugs and wires, as well as a new distributor. Now when I pulled the plug wires and plugs, they were covered in oil!!!!!!! Could the seals in there be the cause of this??????

usually it's the lower tube seals. you have to remove the rocker arm assembly to replace these.

There is a DiY on the whole thing. not too hard to do in half a day your first time. You may as well adjust your valves while your at it.

also be sure that the timing is set correctly. if a new distributor was installed, it may be that the previous owner was off by a few degrees

Do you own a Haynes repair manual? You can get one from any auto zone for ~15 dollars, one of the best investments you'll make for your car. There's a pretty good section explaining the valve adjustment procedure, and it's specific to your car, not some generic write up.

Autozone has a pretty good writeup:
            http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm

The DIY here is excellent; I used it to replace the lower seals as well.

Yes,this is a good time to tune her up since you just got her. Oil change, plugs and new wires..etc.

Igntion timing I think is 15 degrees BTDC.
Those spark plugs seals come in a valve cover gasket set. Also remember to adjust the valves when the car is cold.

why? just keep it stock. unless you know exactly what you are doing, the timing should be kept around the stock numbers.

I figured I might be able to pick up every bit of what little hp I can. I plan on a new f22 within the next month or so. So I rly dont care what happens to this one I have now.

why would you all buy a manual when hondahookups.com has the complete honda service manual.. http://www.hondahookups.com

go there save your money, the valve adjustments is in the very first section of the manual.

Seeing as a Haynes is only about 15 dollars (sometimes less), it's not like a huge sacrifice. It's also very nice to have something in print while you're working instead of running back and forth from a computer.
