Honestly if you don't have alot of money you won't be able to reach 12's. You best and cheapest bet is to just go turbo.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

G22's are cheaper to replace than h22a's when they go.

Cheapest way to 12's
The cheapest way to 12's is to drop the accord and get a civic. There are very few members on this site, even with built motors getting 12's
That being said, an older civic with an h22 and an h2d kit should be capable of 12's.
That is my opinion.
Oh and it is nearly the same price to replace a blown h22 as a blown g22.
Why, because you just make the blown h22 into a non blown g22 (keep h22 head get f22 block) at least that makes sense to me. If not correct me LOL

The G22 won't give you nearly as much power as the H22... unless you do some SERIOUS modification, which won't be cheap. At all. Not to mention the increased potential for reliability issues. If building a frankenstein motor is your preference, more power to you... but if your primary goal is to get into the 12s NA, the G22 isn't really the greatest option.
To get into the 12s... HIGH 12s... you're gonig to need to put down in excess of 250whp, and your car is going to have to be lightened to about 2500-2600lbs.
If you're serious about building a 12 second NA CB7, then you need to do some major research. I would look into getting an H22A built by Collective Racing, or an F22A built by Bisimoto.
Both companies are well known for building powerful, reliable motors. They are experts.
This frankenstein bullshit will leave you with empty pockets and a broken car. I'm not a fan of frank motors... and I figure that if you have to ask ANYTHING about them, you aren't knowledgeable enough to build one reliably. If the project is to build a frank for the sake of building a frank, then it's cool. If the project involves a target power level, there are better, more reliable ways to do it.

I really believe this depends on the competence of the person doing the build. I mean Lodollar92lx pretty much contradicts the charges/arguments against frankensteins. He's not the only one either. Ls/vtecs on honda tech making nice power and a lot of those guys actually hang on to those engines for a while. Shit I think the three most powerful CB7s on this forum are boosted franks. I agree with you though deev as far NA goes. The H22 would be the best way to go unless you are bisimoto..lol..Originally posted by deevergote. View Post

im also gonna start on my fisrt frank motor f22 block wit h22 head boosted good luck wit it.
but like any GOOD mechanic will tell u doing stuff like that u cant cut corners that for any honda btw if u want it to last u gotta do it right and strengthen any part of ur motor that u think might have alot of wear and tear like 1st thing ima do is the pistons rings and stuff like that and make sure the head a throw on is in great shape.oh and change out the crankshaft 2 a high performance one thats just me a have had bad luck wit rod knocks and spung bearing...but like i said good luck man

The motor is going in a 95 rs integra out the factory it weighs 2500 and is gutted and missing all ac/ps s im sure the car is around 2400, and from wat I know on spun bearings means not enough oil pressure remember i'm putting the kaizen something balance removel kit from what I read by doind that that raises oil pressure I am trying to have the highest oil pressure possible so I can rev 2 atleast 7500.Originally posted by Ghetto_CB7 View PostThe cheapest way to 12's is to drop the accord and get a civic. Mike is turbo. This guy is talking NA.Originally posted by Fake Thug View PostI really believe this depends on the competence of the person doing the build. And the LS/VTEC is not the same as the G22 (which, honestly, I think is a stupid name... because there IS a factory Honda G series... the G25)
And no, the three most powerful cars on the forum are not boosted franks. The two 600+hp (proven... not g22accordman's wannabe ride) are both built and boosted H22s. I have seen both in person.
Reliability does depend on the person, true. And it CAN be made powerful with a full build... but that takes any "g22"-ness away from it. It just complicates building a motor.
As I said above... if you have to ask questions like "will these pistons work", or you make statements like "I saw a guy on another forum that did this", you do not know enough to build a frank motor. Don't do it.

Wow, the "kaizen something balance removal kit"... yeah, you're ready to build a motor...Originally posted by azboost View PostThe motor is going in a 95 rs integra out the factory it weighs 2500 and is gutted and missing all ac/ps s im sure the car is around 2400, and from wat I know on spun bearings means not enough oil pressure remember i'm putting the kaizen something balance removel kit from what I read by doind that that raises oil pressure I am trying to have the highest oil pressure possible so I can rev 2 atleast 7500.
Kaizenspeed balance shaft removal kit. It allows you to remove the balance shaft. If it increases oil pressure, it is simply a side effect. Spun bearings aren't necessarily due to low oil pressure. Do you understand what bearings do? Do you understand what happens when you spin a bearing? Knowing what they do and how they fail is a GREAT way to understand how to avoid failure.
In addition to low oil pressure, you can spin a bearing if you have one that isn't properly sized... which is very easy to do when you're mismatching factory parts.

Hey,Originally posted by azboostI just need to get in the 12' all motor kuz one of my friends has a k20a in his teg and his best time is 13 flat.
I like what you are doing,
but running 12 sec in an Integra with that setup is going to be very hard...especially with an F22 block. It will probably end up being a 14sec car.
An easier and more realistic way to run 12s would probably be a complete H22, cams, no exhaust, an H22 tranny, a dyno tune, and strip the Integra to 2200lbs when you go to the track just to be on the safe side.

i would go with an h22 if you want a reliable motor that will last you more than a year. with an h2b swap in the teg you should be able to hit 12's. my buddy had a stock h22 with a h2b in his ef and it ran lower 12's all day. with out a built g22 u would probably no hit 12,s
