ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    D 16 Swap?????

So here it is in a nutshell. I found a CB7 that someone has swapped the F motor for a D16. He also says he swapped the tranny and that the car is pretty quick. I am thinking that the cars "quickness" is a result of a higher geared tranny than of any real horsepower. Does it even make sense to do a swap like that? What are the capabilities of a D16 and can anything be done to make it worthwhile?

    thanks

Thanks for all of the responses. So I called the guy to get some more pics and asked him if he would, of course, read me the engine model number. He texted me back and asked me if the number that said F22A1 was the one that I wanted. So he apparently does not have a D16 swap. I am thinking that is wither a car to avoid or a car to buy for body only. It is an EX so I know the engine has been swapped, but there is no telling what these idiots have done.

i want to see pics of proof. i doubt he swapped that in there. that motor would die trying to lug the accord around.

you can turbo a stock sleeve d16, drop in vitara pistons, h beam rods, and piece together turbo kit for under $1500 and see 450whp. the key will be which turbo you use. But that sound DUMB, to drop a 1.6liter in these heavy cars. But on boost the d16 would jerk that car around no problem.

a stock d16 would suck in our cars. Not enough um to lug it around. If your thinking of doing this that just dumb. f22 is way better.

Boost on a F series would do more then jerk the car around. D16's are what like 110 HP and 100 ft lbs of torque? For the price that it probably took to make a D series work with a CB7, that money could have been spent on boosting the F series or dropping in a H

X2. If he really did do this swap, (which I really don't believe) all he did was a lot of extensive work to downgrade.

yeah no crap the F would be better on boost..lol but 5 times the $ for parts to support around 400+whp. and if the D16z6 is already in it, then he hasnt wasted any money on getting it in,so that was useless to say. we all know the f22 head is surperior to H, B, and D. But yeah id never swap one in IMO. but hell to each their own, atleast he isnt swapping out the best engine out for a fucking DOHC vtec...LOL

Please prove that it would be 5 times less money to get 400+ whp on a D series motor.

How was it useless to say? I never said it's a waste to buy a car with it already in (to a certain extent because it is a downgrade from the F anyway). I said for the price and time it took to put it in, a F could have been boosted or a H could have been dropped in. Meaning the original person that did the swap.

D and B don't belong in a accord even the stock form just isn't enough for it. Plus everyone has a D or a B i like having the F bc no one else respects it.

well, didnt know you could get pistons for a f22 that can take 500whp for $155 with rings/wrist pins, and rods for $280. Thats only reason I say if its already swapped, shit, id do it..lol stock head will support the 400-450whp. But yeah, whats with the weird face about the DOHC vtec statement.. F22 are waymore surperior.
