ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Camber & Caster

when do you know when you have to get em changed?

what are the symptoms that they are going bad?

    #2
caster is not so easy to tell but camber you will see excessive outter or inner tire wear. However this can also be a symptom of toe being out.

But the best way to tell is simple, if you are getting uneven tire wear and your tires have been kept at proper psi (no less than 32) then you will need a 4 wheel alignment. Do not get a 2 wheel (it is cheaper) get a 4 wheel, a four wheel aligns all four points on the car. If you get a two wheel alignment, you can end up dogtracking.

I HAVE INNER TIRE WEAR, but i got an aligment after but still have on the same tires..

should i get new tires to see if it was jus the alignment that was causing the tire wear or get new tires too see if it still has the problem to see if the cambers are bad?

Get new tires...if they continue to wear, take it back to the shop. Only problem is by this time the "warranty" on that previous alignment will be out.

Old/weak/sagging springs can cause you camber to go negative even if caster and toe are corrected. (notice that dropped cars tend to have the tires leaning in...neg camber) I think that is my current problem. But if the alignment was done, unless they told you specifically "We couldn't get the camber in spec" it should be good.

Be careful with that inner tire wear, mine get bald and show metal...and my outter tread is still good crazy bad neg camber

anytime u get new tire get the car aligned. it is an inexpensive way to save money. lol that didnt really make sense huh. but it will save u money on tires in the future. if ur car is lowered then u should look into a camber kit. i have the spc kit front and rear and it is great. but if i were u i would get new tires and an align when u get the tires ask about lifetime rotate and balance get them rotated every oil change.

Camber and Caster are not regular parts that go bad and need to be replaced.

Very true...only time your camber will go out and it's not the result of a curb hit will be REALLY bad springs, which cause sag.

It's usually toe that causes the tire wear, or a curb hit.
