ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Highway: Unstable Steering Wheel.. ??

I know that if you go over 60mph the steering wheel will shake if the tires arent balanced..

What if it still shakes after the tires have already been balanced? What could it be?

Have you tried tightening the bolts/screws that hold the steering wheel in place ? It could be that its just loose and needs tightening

No, and the steering wheel isn't held on by bolts/screws anyway.

          Check your balljoints.
          wat?

you think it has to do anything with the lower ball joints, sway bar end links, or the control arms?

yea mine did that till it got really bad and the i change out the whole upper control arm and it went away but mine did it when i would slow down....just look for small breaks in the ball joint it easy to spot

Might not neccessarily be unbalanced tires.. could be bad or dryrotted tires.

Ball joints and tie rods should be your culprit.

mine used to do this when accelerating onto the highway. It was my D/S axle that was worn out. So if you're axles are original, then its prob. that. Jack your car up and tug back and forth on your axles, if they have slop, then the CV joints are prob. worn.

If you have aftermarket rims they may need hub centric adapters. In town my would ride fine, out on the highway (75 mph) they would create vibration. Had the wheels balanced and no difference. Ordered hub centric adapters. Mine cb9 rim ID 73.1 honda hub 64.15mm.

How many miles do you have? I had 185K on my wagon and I needed front wheel bearings, upper and lower ballin joints, and tie rods. It could be any or all of those. The whole car and steering wheel would shake after 60 mph. Now I have no shaking at all.
