ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    dx vs ex?

Just a quick question. I used to have a 92 dx 4 door and man that thing moved. it had a f22a1 and it would spin tiers 2nd and some times 3rd gear with no problem! I just recently bought a 91 ex 4 door and it feels slugish for some odd reason. I mean it had good top end but lags on take off. It has a f22a4 in it. I thought the f22a4 had more power than the f22a1 could it be that the ex is heavier? thanks!

    f22a1-125hp
    f22a4-130hp

the ex is heavier than the dx but a couple hundred pounds if that.

it has a factory 4-2-1 header, similar to a DC sports or ebay header. That is the only difference between the two motors. So if anything the f22a1 may feel a bit more responsive at the lower rpm due to more back pressure, but it will suffocatre more at the higher rpms. your next step to some more hp would be f22a6 cam+intake manifold, that'll put you around 140.

I see. So you think I would get more power if I get parts from the f22a6

cool! so there is no need for me to upgrade my header to a aftermarket one?

It has been debated that the a4 exhaust manifold was better than the a6 but the intake manifold from the a6 is def the best, and remove the butterfly valves.

no, not at all, unless you were to fully built the motor, like larger bore/stroke, higher compression...etc

correct, and when you remove the butterflies you can also add a p12 ecu from a prelude type s, i what years. that will add another 10-15hp.
thats actually my setup right now, f22a1+a6 cam+inatake mani+p12+i/h/e
