ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Think about it, would you REALLY want to risk hurting you or someone else just to "look good"?

All it takes is that ONE instance for your life to change and go horribly wrong. Why up the ante?

Do it once. Do it right. 30 days is a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of your life.

Do the job right, or leave it alone. So you want to risk something happening for a 1in 1/2 drop??

just get some ebay springs, or spring blues? it will handle better vs cut

yes ive cut coils. i took a coil and a half off the back stock springs. and it dropped the car where i wanted it about almost 2 inches. BUT now read this before u do.....when u cut the tops or bottoms of the coils, they WILL not seat on the strut at all. the tops and the bottom of the stock coils are flat. cutting removes the flatness which creates a huge headace. they will fall out, be lop sided and always have a clunk or a knock wit every bump. not to mention everytime u jack the car up it gets all out of line and u have to reset it before u lower it back down. from someone who has experince in this, do it right. that shit just isn't safe to ride around on.

i've done it to two cars, slammed on because they only made coils to lower to like 1 inch and that wasnt enough for me. The other just lowered a little. I've never had a problem with the struts or anything like everyone else is saying. It rode just like lowering springs(in fact one set was lowering springs) If i were going to do it i'd cut two off. I've never in my life seen a coil fly out but hey things happen. If you are just riding on it for a month, which i suspect your not or you don't know how much a pain in the ass it is to keep changing coils haha, if it is the case then i'd just wait like everyone else said.

and for the hieght i jus want to eliminate the excessive wheel well space...but a good set of rims and tires can also do that....
