Okay i was ridin down mercer univ. comin from lake wildwood yesterday and my 93 lx accord oil light came on and stayed on not even 2mins. later it dies at 40 mph. i pulled over and tried to crank her up and i heard this metal pounding from the engine bay so i poped the hood at check it out. it was comin from the bottom end of the block and was getting harder so i cut it off checked oil and it was below the second hole. put in some oil and water in the radiator and tried again it still was knocking just not as hard. so i veryvery slow drove it to the nearest family members yard where it sits now and i need to know what could this be and how much and hard is it. and possibly could anyone help me doit?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Might as well find you a new engine . . . You sound like you threw a rod or spun a main bearing . . . And this is no easy fix you would ahhve to go through the oil pan and you probably scraped the block so there is very lil chance of a rebuild. . . Hit the junkyard look for f22's or an h22 even better.Originally posted by Jkid View PostOkay i was ridin down mercer univ. comin from lake wildwood yesterday and my 93 lx accord oil light came on and stayed on not even 2mins. later it dies at 40 mph. i pulled over and tried to crank her up and i heard this metal pounding from the engine bay so i poped the hood at check it out. it was comin from the bottom end of the block and was getting harder so i cut it off checked oil and it was below the second hole. put in some oil and water in the radiator and tried again it still was knocking just not as hard. so i veryvery slow drove it to the nearest family members yard where it sits now and i need to know what could this be and how much and hard is it. and possibly could anyone help me doit?The local asshole, 19 years in the making and still not giving a shit

Sequence of events;
Oil light comes on, indicating very low to zero oil pressure. You ignore it and continue to drive the car for approaching two minutes. Severe bearing damage results. Engine is cactus...
If you had shut down immediately the light came on you may not have needed a replacement engine (you could probably fix your existing one, but it's most likely much more economic to replace it with a S/H unit).Regards from Oz,
John.

I’m sorry to hear that. I agree it’s better to just look for another F or H. You definitely would have been ok if you would have stop right when the oil pressure light came on and unfortunately those two minutes you kept it running killed it and if the noise is that bad then the damage must be serious – total bummer. Never the less see if you can drain the oil and pull the pan be on the lookout for metal parts lying in the oil. If none then you are 'lucky' and you just shot a rod bearing. Keep us posted
