ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    91 Accord Stutters When Accelerating

My 91 Accord EX with about 230,000 miles stutters some mornings when accelerating in 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd gears. I can feel the engine stuttering, then after a few seconds the engine will catch and accelerate normally. I'd describe the feeling as though spark plugs are not all firing in order. Spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, and cables have all be replaced about 1 1/2 years ago. Timing belt is only 2 1/2 years old (not sure if this matters). Speed sensor is shot so speedometer jumps around or doesn't work, but car is a 5-speed and my mechanic says not to worry about replacing since its a manual transmission. Battery replaced recently. Oil changed regularly. This car has no other issues I'm aware of.

I know this question may have already been answered in this forum, but want to open this specific question for discussion. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like an Oxygen Sensor, try unplugging it and driving around as a test, your check engine light will be on, but it will not harm anything. If unplugging it resolves the problem, then you should replace your o2 sensor, and reset your ecu after replacement.

If it doesn't fix it, I would check the functionality of your EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculatory) System, when was the last time you had the EGR ports cleaned?

Thanks! I have never had the EGR ports cleaned... I don't think I have. I am the second owner, but I don't think it was done by the previous owner though. How can I do this? Or should I have it done? Also, where is the O2 sensor and how can I reset the ECU? Sorry for all the questions. I'm new to car repair.

If you have a f22a1, and the stock manifold still, the o2 sensor should be accessible from the front. If you have an f22a4 or f22a6, you'll have to climb under the car to unplug it. I have an a1, so it was a cakewalk, and takes 5 seconds to unplug or plug it back in.
