ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

About to pull my f22,quick question

i read the f22 removal in the swap section and it says to remove the axle but in the editors note it says you do not have to...

so i geuss my questions is...

i have everything unhooked except the drive shafts...

can i just hook the lift up and pull the motor up out and the drive shafts will pull themselves out or what?

    much appreciated,
    bucky

I believe that's the idea, although I've never actually done it without just removing the axles.

If you do just lift the engine with the axles in the half shaft and transaxle, watch to make sure the axles don't hit the shock assembly fork.

Youll probally rip the boots apart....
You can seperate them at the tranny with like a crowbar as you lift.
Some people dont want to take the axle nuts off, I know why lol

Dont you have to at least remove the drivers side axle (if you have a manual) to remove the engine because of the secondary shaft that is on the drivers side?

ive tried that method and it doesnt work. the axle shafts just hit the suspension fork. what you can do is disconnect the axles from the tranny/ halfshaft, disconnect the lower ball joint and just swing them out of the way.

i have to take them all the way out because i need room to move the car back and forth. gotta make use with what i have.

disconnect the lower ball joint and the entire spindle will come out of the lower control arm and swing but will pivot on the tie rod that is still connected.

Just pull the axles. It's not difficult. If you break something, you're going to be making a lot more work (and expense) for yourself!

I have done it both ways. If this is your first rodeo, leaving the CV Axles in is asking for trouble.

Is there anyone that can give you a ride to the store? Taking the axles out, which means pulling the axle nut and popping the ball joints, is really the only easy way. You'll be screwed if you damage the axles... you'll then have to take them out AND replace them!
