ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

There's no such thing as a H22b Vtec ,it's H22 Vtec .Originally posted by carsten View PostMy buddy has a f22a6. He would like to have vtec. He just wants to change the head. But I dont think that will work. what exactly would he have to do to get vtec. I told him to get a h22b vtec motor.
tell your buddy VTEC is overrated although i freaking love it
.
if he chooses to do just the head swap ,here are the common options.
* f22b1 VTEC SOHC HEAD which is pointless and sort of a downgrade.
if you just want to see a valve cover that says VTEC in your bay go a head.
*you have your H22 DOHC VTEC which is more common .
but if you choose to go with it mating with the f22ax block which most will call the G22 Frankenstein .
doing some work to the f22ax block is highly recommended .
ask me why ?

Honestly, head swaps usually give you more trouble than they're worth. If you swap on an H22 head onto your F22 block, you'll just have a lower compression H22, which won't yield much more power over your F22a.Originally posted by carsten View Postthats funny. he makes me do all the research. he really doesnt care that much about his cb7. Either fully swap, or build up your F22.
Are you only wanting an H22 to say you have VTEC?
You could build up the F22 (n/a or FI) and make as much, if not more power, than the H22.

Does your friend know what VTEC is, and what it does? Or is he just saying he wants VTEC to be like all the other cool street racers out there?
Changing the head is a bad idea. SOHC F22 VTEC engines are pretty much worthless in terms of performance... there are in no way better than the non-VTEC variety.
If he wants VTEC badly, tell him to get an H22A (there is no H22B...)
As for the F and B comparison... why? It has nothing to do with this thread. It sounds like you're just trying to change the subject because you clearly have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Nobody cares which is better, because the B series is thoroughly impractical for our cars. It CAN be done, but for the amount of work it would take, the potential isn't worth it.
Keep this thread on topic, or it will be locked.
