ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that a cb's oil filter is gonna cost less than a s2000's, so save your money and buy the one that's made for your car =)

Honda oil filters are all the same size, before 2003 there used to be to different size filter. Then they switched to just 1 size for all their vehicles. The s2k filter should fit without issue. There also should not be any price difference unless it's aftermarket. Like I said it's 1 oil filter universal to all model hondas, If I remeber correctly Acura still uses 2 different sizes.

So what about when you buy an oil filter for your oil change, does the chep-o-filter do the same as the royal purple filter I had or does that actually help out with the filtering process?

This is the numerical listing for NAPA P/N: 1334

while the factory numbers may be different from car to car they all interchange back to this number.
i highly doubt you would notice any difference from one factory filter to another. hence the interchange to one number.

the cheapo filter is cheap for a reason.
                dont buy them.

the performance filters do filter better, but only slightly compared with an OE quality filter.

The difference between cheap oil filters and more expensive ones would be the material they use and how well they actually filter the oil. I use the cheapest filters and oil but I do my oil changes every 3000 kms. Personally, I think that is a better way to ensure your engine lasts longer than buying an expensive filter. IMO

The s2k filter has a larger capacity which = more filter material. Definalty would be better to run it if you have an H22....but waste of money for the
                        F22.

TONS of misinformation in this thread.

1)All Honda filters USED to be the same size. Then Honda decided that a smaller filter would work just as well in most cars, so they released the current filter.

                          2) The S2000 uses the same filter that all Hondas USED to use prior to the release of the new one, because of additional filter capacity. It is NOT recommended to use the new filter on the S2K.

                          3) You can use an S2K filter on any Honda car, but you can't use the new filter on the S2K. Honda released a memo specifically stating this to all of their parts departments. So if you want to pay the extra $ for the better filter, then by all means, feel free. Whether it is worth it or not is up to you, but there is clearly a flow and capacity difference, or there wouldn't be a restriction on the S2000. Of course, then again, your car probably doesn't rev to 9,000 RPM either.

                          4) The exceptions to the rule are the Hondas that were not actually made by Honda, i.e. the Passport and the Acura SLX. They use their respective Isuzu filters.

You wont see a preformance increase by using a diffrent oil filter.

I've used the M105 Mobile1 filter for the extra oil capacity on all my H22/H23/F23/K24 engines in the past because I've never thought added oil capacity was ever a bad thing. Having the extra filter media also is less of a restriction in case you forget an oil change in dusty/dirty environments.

The Napa 1334 is a filter made by WIX and it's been tested on www.bobistheoilguy.com to be a good filter both for quality of filtration and also assembly.

I've used both and am pretty happy about both kinds.
