ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    chiped ECU question

i have a P14 ECU out of a 95 prelude si im building a h23a1 with a turbo and im wondering whats all involved with getting a ECU chipped

    #2
    You really can't do anything with that P14. You'll want a P06 from a 92-95 Civic LX/DX.

The actual "chipping" of the ECU is fairly easy. Simply de-soldering some components and replacing them with others that you can buy in a kit.

Tuning the ECU is a different matter. There is a LOT to learn when it comes to tuning an ECU.

We have a subforum in the Performance section dedicated to ECU tuning. There are also very helpful websites like www.pgmfi.org and www.homemadeturbo.com that will provide you with tons of info.

A P28 will also work with Vtec disabled for H23.
As Deev said chipping is fairly easy to do, But get it tuned professionally and don't attempt to go boosting around on a basemap.

If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

I ordered this kit for chipping my P06 and also converted it to manual.

Very true. A P28 will work, as will a P72... but those cost more to buy, normally.

Moates products are fantastic. I have a Hulog on my ECU right now.

But yes... when you finally get things all situated, don't drive the car. Get the ECU installed, and get the car running on a basemap. Then either get a tuner to come to you for a street tune, or limp the car very carefully (towing it would be better...) to a shop with a dyno for tuning there. Dyno tuning will pull the most power from your setup. A street tune can even out the A/F ratio, and many good street tuners claim to be able to get close to dyno numbers... but only the dyno tells you how much power you're making.

doesnt matter, the chipper should be able to fix that for you. I think it is only a matter of removing a resistor.
