ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    h22 compression is not right

ok today i checked my H's compression and 2 cylinders had 210 and the other 2 had 260 and i checked them 3 times and i got the same readings. i took off all the spark plugs and disconnected the fuel pump and ecu fuses to do the test and i had the gas pedal held all the way down when i was cranking ! why am i gettin these readings is there something wrong or is that good and no there is no oil leaking into the cylinders to throw off the reading. can someone please help

If two opposites are the ones with 210 (such as 1 and 4 or 2 and 3)
The engine wont be that bad
But that is odd...try useing a thicker oil
Unless you want to tear it apart and replace compression rings

Those are good numbers. However the two lower ones are the ones to be concerned about. Now the previous poster said if they are opposite as in 1 and 4 cylinder have the low readings then i would do a leakdown test to insure backup. However it could be your rings (more than likely) or valve seals. But if it is on cylinder 2 and 3 i would almost say it could be your head gasket.

did you let the engine warm up to operating temp before checking compression?

we need to know which two cylinders. it could be a blown headgasket if it is the middle two.

do a leak down test to see if its just the valves.

What made you want to do a compression test ne ways?
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

loss of compression is a sign of head gasket "damage". Head gasket goin out just a tiny bit, between 1 and 2 could cause this. You dont always have to have water in oil, vice versa. And a head gasket is the easiest fix IMO

lots of things can cause loss of compression not just a blown head gasket. like rings or a bent valve.

yes you are correct there are like 7 or 8 different things that could be the problem. But almost always when 2 different cylinders are down in compression right next to each other it almost always points to a headgasket problem wether the car is smoking or oil in the antifreeze or vise versa. Yes we could be wrong and its just the rings but next to each other its usually a headgasket.
