ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Bronze or Green??? I've only heard of the Green and Blue tints. At least those are the only two options I had when I replaced my windshield.Originally posted by Night Wolf View Post^^^ never heard of that

I was searching for bronze for the longest time. A few replacement shops said they had it, but non actually carried them. All said they were out of production.
I believe any bronze tint strip on stock windshields is actually a blue strip that has faded. I don't think any US models actually came with a bronze strip. Sucks... I really want bronze!

Actually, the way it was described to me is that the tint is in the actual glass, not particularly the strip at the top. I could be wrong, but the reason I say this is that the option for green or blue is available on all the windows, leading me to believe it's the actual glass itself that has a subtle greenish or blueish tint to it. When my passenger side door glass was broken out it was replaced with green cause that's the original color. I asked my glass guy friend to get me a blue tint windshield and he said, "the rest of your glass is green, it probably won't look right." I told him I was gonna get it all tinted, so he said, "Ok, well then it's probly ok." So I got the blue windshield. It really doesn't make a lot of difference unless you're around auto glass enough to notice it.Originally posted by deevergote View PostI was searching for bronze for the longest time. Remember, I could be wrong, but my friend has a lot of experience and I think I understood him correctly.

On a side note, I also asked him if I could get a windshield with no tint strip across the top at all, since I was getting the top tinted with 50% tint at another friends' shop. He told me there was no option for a windshield with or without a strip, all of them have one. This is OEM PPG glass, I don't go for that wavy mexican made crap. Watch out for cheap aftermarket glass!

hmmm... 12 years still means that it was exposed to the blasting sun (you were in Florida before, right?) for a number of years. Of course, I could be wrong as well, and it may have existed!Originally posted by PakaloloHonda View PostMine has always been bronze .. I've owend it for well over 12 years ..

Yes, I believe you're right. Clear glass was another option that was given when I had mine replaced... but I was told that it also wasn't made.Originally posted by wherm View PostOn a side note, I also asked him if I could get a windshield with no tint strip across the top at all, since I was getting the top tinted with 50% tint at another friends' shop. True Deev .. true.Originally posted by deevergote View Posthmmm... 12 years still means that it was exposed to the blasting sun (you were in Florida before, right?) for a number of years. Of course, I could be wrong as well, and it may have existed!
But I have always noticed, since the very begining the bronze tint ..
The car was bought in GA. and it was garage kept all those years.
I then drove it to FL... and then here out on the west coast .. and to be honest,
I haven't noticed any difference in all this time in terms of fading, or it getting lighter ..
Then again .. I raised my chocolate malinese since a kitten, and never notied her growth ..
