ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Hell naw, u just want a power window on that one door? That shit is funny. But anyways, the DX don't have power anything so I doubt its plug and play. There is a gang of wires and shit that goes from the door into the car, which I'm assuming the DX does not have being that it doesn't have power windows/locks/mirrors.

Yeah cuz if he is just trying to do just the regulator and wires he's really trippin cuz thats a whole lotta work. U gotta get in there and put in the motor and replace the panels and wire shit up. Might as well just buy an entire new car, an LX or some shit. Installing the entire door would be the best way if ur gonna do something like that but I don't think its happening regardless without gettin real crazy.

              Haha. "some mickey mouse BS?"

I understand your question. Check to see if your DX, even though produced without any motorized moving parts in the door, still have the wires tucked up somewhere in the dash.

It's kind of a 50/50 thing, I've seen some car manufactures use the same wireharness on all cars, just take out the actual components. Apparently it's cheaper to produce one wire harness and just not put in the components than it is to make a few different harnesses.

If it DOES have the harness going to the door, then it should be very simple. Either extending some wires, or just pulling them into the door.

If not, then you'll have to wire it up yourself. Which then..it may end up being some, "mickey mouse bs", as you previously stated.

Now that u mention it, my homeboy a couple years back tried this same shit in his 94 Civic SI. He snatched up a door from a couple (which has all the power bullshit) and thought maybe he could just swap the door out and then he'd have power windows and what not. From what I can remember I think it was way more complicated, he had to get behind the dash of the coupe and get all the wiring and shit. He didn't end up ever doing it becuase of that. IDK, they both Hondas so I'm assuming it'll be the same. Unless he was doin something wrong or maybe the DX is different. Like I said, IDK.

The switches are in the door so it shouldn't be too bad, you'll need to get the wiring schematics to see how an LX would be wired but theoretically all you need to do is ground one side of the switch and provide power to the other side. The door you're swapping in should have all the other needed wiring between switches and motors already prewired.

If you want the power lock button to operate both doors you'll have to run at least one wire from one door to the other as well, still not a big deal.
