Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

My suggestion is to concentrate on the coolant level only.
You mentioned you topped it up and lost some coolant but don't know where it went.
My questions are:
Did you just change your coolant recently?
How long since you changed your coolant and then checked and did the top up?
Did you check both the radiator and expansion tank previously and both was staying full?
Is it needing a top up every now and again? How many times have you done the top up and how often?Last edited by JDMDriver; 03-01-2010, 11:40 AM.Rides:

changed the coolant back in october...
realized i didnt have the overflow resevoir filled...
refilled on saturday night...
plus topped of rad...
weird tho, since then i havent had to add any....
still have the hesitation issue briefly after starting the car, every now and then after making a few runs...
checked ecu codes...yesterday
not sure what shes telling me
put jumper wire in, turn key, one quick flash, pause, then four long flashes, one quick flash, pause then repeats...
is it telling me 1 and 41
or....some other code
if so says o2 sensor, that sux...
but with this car since i got it the check engine lite has been on
looked around car and checked codes back then and nothing from ecu but did find a plug in the wiring harness under the intake near the oil filter that was not plugged in, but cant find anything for it to plug into, its very short...
so didnt really mind the check engine lite till nowDailyRuNr

What happened is since you forgot to top the overflow reservoir the main radiator was operating with some air in it. Then when you filled the reservior the main radiator naturally needed more fluid.
Looking around i got the below expanation.
14 IAC Valve (Idle Air Control) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
41 Primary Oxygen Sensor - Heater circuit malfunction
I would look into the code 14 first (IAC) as this would affect your idle. Besides it doesnt cost a thing. Just an adjustment or clean. Find a posting on how to clean and adjust this.
If the IAC doesnt fix it i suggest going to your nearest junk yard and grab an oxy sensor from the same generation accord or 4th gen prelude. If it doesnt fix the problem then at least you have a back up oxygen sensor.
The sensor is on the exhaust just before the catalytic converter. So you will need to go under the car (safety is a priority especially in the junk yards where things are unstable and not necessarily standing on solid ground). Good thing is you can remove the sensor easily without removing the exhaust.
Let us know how you go.Rides:

In addition i suspect the coolant your using is a cheapo variety and i dont recommend it.
If its not cheap then the price may not be cheap but the materials they used is the inferior type.
Use Honda only. The colour may be blue or green but it definitely doesnt look like what you currently have.
It may cost more but you will be able to leave it in there longer! So the savings would come out better as well as knowing its giving you better protection.Rides:
