ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

The two sounds could be separate, or they could be related.

it's possible the clicking could be a cv axle, but it could also be the steering rack.

The "Duh" sound and loose steering wheel could be the steering rack pulling free of its mounting.

The "loose" feeling of the steering wheel could be because the steering rack mounting bolts could have come loose.

Take this car in and have it checked out or you are playing with your life!

Or check it out yourself. But check it out.

                    Peace.

PS I once had a loud "bang" while driving on the highway and for the life of me I could never figure out what it was. I think maybe it was a shock blowing, I have been driving with bad suspension for a while. But I never have been sure what that sound was.

Defenitly the axle... its not that expensive I just bought one today at Advance auto for 32.99 that is the entire axle not just the front part.. also check your front links on your stabilizer bar... and once your under the car inspect your rack & pinion when rack & pinion goes bad u leak power stearing fluid.. Thud sounds are axles, links or ball joints..

                      Good luck

If its an axle, do the wheel bearing at the same time. It's a lil bit more work gettin the old bearing out, but every time I've sold a brake job or axle (esp one that when clunk while driving) I recommend a new bearing (they're $30 so it's just worth it to do while it's all apart)

slightly off topic: for your future purchase, try to avoid autozone axles or the like (o'reilly's, advanced auto, etc.) because most are re-manufactured. in other words, they're more than likely going to take a shit on you within the next couple years, or even that same year. my brother replaced the ones on mine before i got it about 2 1/2 years ago and they've been bad for over a year now. i got some from EMPI that awaiting to be installed that are NEW, not re-manufactured and they cost like 60-70 each.
