Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Go to your local auto parts store and buy a chilton or haynes manual. It will give you step by step instructions with pictures. under hard turning my suspension sounds like a pomeranian getting sat on, could that be my CV shaft? it could be the struts too cuz i blew one a couple of days ago when i went 40 over a 6" deep pot hole (its fun when they sneak up on you :| )

Eh. I got both of my axles from advanced and they have been beatin up left and right for over a year. No ripped boots or any problems.Originally posted by xaaronx View Postslightly off topic: for your future purchase, try to avoid autozone axles or the like (o'reilly's, advanced auto, etc.) because most are re-manufactured. in other words, they're more than likely going to take a shit on you within the next couple years, or even that same year. my brother replaced the ones on mine before i got it about 2 1/2 years ago and they've been bad for over a year now. i got some from EMPI that awaiting to be installed that are NEW, not re-manufactured and they cost like 60-70 each.No fat dudes, car will scrape. Yes i have noticed this also but on my Dads CB. It only occurs on left hand turns.Originally posted by 90Lx-clusive View PostOk gotta crazy clicking sound the other day while driving and turning, but it only seemed to happen on left turns
this was starting to freak me the hell out until it went away! then the other day while driving home on the high way i heard a Loud Dud!! and felt a hard vibration on my foot?? What the Hell can This Be??
At the moment its so subtle you would think its just a vibration inside the cabin somewhere.
I have recently changed my axles (well its still original just the boots as i was able to spot the tear and replaced it before it started clicking) and is 100% its not the problem. I tested it lock to lock right to left turns and no clicking.
The noise occurs when you are cruising and taking a left turn. There is a slight vibration / loose sounding but not serious. As I said its so slight you doubt that it could just be internal plastics vibrating or rubbing with the steering wheel (such as the plastic housing around the indicator and washer stalks).
However i really believe its a mechanically related (loose or worn) as upon closer scrutiny there is a slight vibration coming in from my steering wheel. Could it be the steering rack?
What was everyones experience (signs, sounds and feel of wear and tear) that would indicate it to be:
Steering Rack
Stabiliser bar (rubbers bushings)
Inner Tie Rods
Outer Tie Rods
Upper Ball Joints
Lower Ball joints
Radius rods (bushings)Last edited by JDMDriver; 03-19-2010, 06:37 AM.Rides:
