ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

BTW, dont talk back to admins on this forum, it will only keep u in the kid section longer. If an admin gives u advice, take it. They're only helping u to get out of the kid section so u can be among with us members.Originally posted by steelbluesleepR View Postdude, you have to realize that writing with correct grammar (or something relatively close to it) will help you not look like a complete moron.

Read the rules, research before asking possibly a silly question, and give positive advice, and boom u'll be one of us.

As I said, read the info that is provided on this forum. There is a "sticky" thread that deals with the F22B1 swap directly... I assume you've seen it (I assume it's one of the threads linked by other members above).Originally posted by lowprofile View Posthey im not here to get banned i actully like this forum it has lots of information and its fairly detailed .plus every one is talking about my favorite year of accord . i thought i was gonna need to talk to people outside of the kidde section especially after ive read some of these threads so soory . besides im not stupid ive just never done this swap before and dont have two weeks to get it done a day or two is my timeline so i just want to make sure im not gonna run into any detrimental problems
Read that. Understand what you can of it. When you don't get something, ask. Make a post here saying "Can someone give me more details about this specific part of the F22B1 swap?" Believe it or not, someone will GLADLY help you. Very possibly, the member that wrote that "sticky" thread in the first place, since he is very knowledgeable about that swap.
When knowledgeable people see threads like this, they figure "ok, this kid wants me to hold his hand the whole way" and they stay away. Show some initiative. Show that you're willing to learn, you're willing to work, and you're willing to follow advice and directions. Otherwise, all you're going to get is criticism and insults.
I'm not going to ban you. I MAY reset your post count... because you've done a fine job of whoring your way to 23 already. You can get ANY answers you want in this section... as long as you ask to actually find your answers, rather than asking to up your post count. Nobody helps a post whore. If I have to go into this again, I'm simply going to ban you... you clearly don't respect the rules around here... so this is your last chance.

ok im not trying to talk back but ''a good job of whoreing'' maybe little but alot of my post were helpful like the guy who was gonna get some knock off cam gear i feel i helped him alot . you dont buy knock offs when it comes to that stuff ! unless you want a valve in your piston you know . but the question i wanted to ask is for the motor mount they said you gotta grind it then i was told you dont ?? im confused i dont know any one here and that sticky is the reason i found this site. so i wanted to get outta kiddie section to talk to him . he already prove to me he knows what hes talkin about . im from super honda and there all a bunch of effin idiots just want to fight all the time it should be called superstupid.com . im a mechanic i dont need my hand held i just wanted to talk to him about the mounts all the other questions were answered like what pins to switch

Well, wat u can do then for time being a noobie at this site is pm him the question and let him know u looked at his thread. If u jus want his knowledge and input, then ask him directly.Originally posted by lowprofile View Postok im not trying to talk back but ''a good job of whoreing'' maybe little but alot of my post were helpful like the guy who was gonna get some knock off cam gear i feel i helped him alot . you dont buy knock offs when it comes to that stuff ! unless you want a valve in your piston you know . but the question i wanted to ask is for the motor mount they said you gotta grind it then i was told you dont ?? im confused i dont know any one here and that sticky is the reason i found this site. so i wanted to get outta kiddie section to talk to him . he already prove to me he knows what hes talkin about . im from super honda and there all a bunch of effin idiots just want to fight all the time it should be called superstupid.com . im a mechanic i dont need my hand held i just wanted to talk to him about the mounts all the other questions were answered like what pins to switch
When i was a noobie here, and had a certain question i knew a member on here that had knowledge about it, i pmed him. Got my answer quick and easy.
I know it sucks being a noobie sometimes, and seeing certain threads u can't post in and wat not. Remember, we all had to go through the same shit. We'll help u along

ok ill do that now back to tech ,and know you guys have told me search but this question is more for a few differant peoples input . so the f22b1 is crapie engine or so is said is it the head or the bottom end i have a perfectly good a6 head and ecu so if i swap the head over i wont have to change ecu or pin swap i like that but ill be into a head gasket at that point . the budget is real small and i need a transmision ,ex or i might as well go to automatic
so what are the benifits of switching to the a6 head its better flow but has less power ?? its not adding up to me. more potencial?

The f22B motors have poorly ported heads. Now if ur going from an f22a1 head to a f22a6, then there will be an improvement in power and airflow. Due to the fact a6 heads have stiffer springs, better cam, and bigger intake manifold.Originally posted by lowprofile View Postok ill do that now back to tech ,and know you guys have told me search but this question is more for a few differant peoples input . so the f22b1 is crapie engine or so is said is it the head or the bottom end i have a perfectly good a6 head and ecu so if i swap the head over i wont have to change ecu or pin swap i like that but ill be into a head gasket at that point . the budget is real small and i need a transmision ,ex or i might as well go to automatic

I'm not 100% positive but i believe the a1 ecu is slightly different then the a6 ecu. I recommend goin to ur local jy and pick up an a6 ecu.
Forget about the f22b heads, it's a down grade. Jus leave out the F22b head entirely, trust us, we know wat we r talkin about.

ok and ther is nothing wrong with the f22b bottom end just the head , and imstarting with the f22a6 with rods hangin , and got a f22b1 for cheap full swap but no trani (and if any one in denver area know where to get one cheap let me know) so should i keep the v-tec until i find a new a6 motor

*Ehem*, Actually the F20A DOHC would be second to the F20B DOHC VTEC. Look at it's design compared to the F22A6, very similar, but shorter stroke for rev happy design, DOHC, and an intake manifold practically identical to the F22A6 IM.Originally posted by quickangel93 View Posteverything is direct bolt in, except for the wiring. btw f22b suck balls. f22as are the best f series. well second to the f20b
F20A DOHC
- Bore × Stroke: 85.0 × 88.0 mm
- Displacement: 1997 cc
- Valve Configuration: DOHC, 16 valve - Compression ratio: 9.5:1
- Max power: 150 hp (112 kW) @ 6100 rpm
- Max torque: 137 ft·lbf (186 Nm) @ 5000 rpm
F22A
- Bore × Stroke: 85.0 × 95.0 mm
- Displacement: 2156 cc
- Valve Configuration: SOHC, 16 valves, non-VTEC
- Compression ratio: 8.8:1
- Max power:
* F22A1: 125 hp (93.21 4 kW) @ 5200 rpm. NOTE* The 1992-1996 Prelude S had a F22A1 but because of a different more aggressively tuned ECU (P12), the power output was 135 hp (101 kW).
* F22A4: 130 hp (96.94 kW) @ 5200 rpm. The F22A4 is the same motor as the F22A1 but it has slightly more power due to a tubular designed header and slightly bigger exhaust piping.
* F22A6: 140 hp (104.40 kW) @ 5600 rpm. The F22A6 is the same as the F22A1 except for a slightly more aggressive camshaft, a better flowing cast exhaust manifold, a different more aggressively tuned ECU (PT6), and a different intake manifold that utilizes IAB's and also has a bigger plenum. The F22A6 also has a windage tray in the oil pan, and stiffer valve springs to accommodate the more aggressive camshaft.
* F22A7: 140 hp (104.40 kW) @ 5900 rpm (147 hp/108 kW with manual transmission)
So, OP if you want a relatively cheap swap, with GREAT performance potential, the F22A is an ideal engine to get your hands on. More preferably, the F22A6 for reasons listed above.
However, if you can manage to find an F20A DOHC for a good price, GRAB IT! I can't wait to get my swap finished in a couple weeks (only working on it during the weekends when time is available).
And as stated before, the F22B SOHC engine is a TERRIBLE choice for anything performance oriented when compared to the F22A. The VTEC isn't an aggressive performance VTEC like you may be thinking, it's just a economy VTEC, which is weak and hardly noticeable. The F22A is a much more fun engine and has GREAT potential.
So, what's the conclusion to this book I just wrote you? Don't waste your time and money swapping a F22B into your car, and find an F22A, or F20A DOHC, or maybe even an H23A DOHC. These are the engines that you will get the most out of while being on a budget.

first off, all f- and h-series motors mount up to any f- or h-series transmission, so unless yours is also fucked, you can use it.Originally posted by lowprofile View Postok and ther is nothing wrong with the f22b bottom end just the head , and imstarting with the f22a6 with rods hangin , and got a f22b1 for cheap full swap but no trani (and if any one in denver area know where to get one cheap let me know) so should i keep the v-tec until i find a new a6 motor
as for the motor, pull the head off your a6 and hope that the head is ok. get it checked out and if it is, you're golden. if not (and i'm betting it isn't, it probably has a ton of scars from the pistons fighting their way out of the block), you should be able to find someone selling an f22a head for cheap, like under $50. swap the a6 head onto your f22b block and you can use the intake and exhaust manifolds you had on your old motor as well as having a better flowing motor.
you'll need a new head gasket and head bolts (or step up and get ARP head studs) to complete the swap. you'll also need a new water pump and timing belt but its best to do that on a used motor anyway, even if you don't swap the heads.
correct, the a6 ECU has a slightly more aggressive map to take advantage of the more aggressive cam in the motor. i'm not positive, but i believe it also has a higher speed governor or none at all.Originally posted by Johnz826 View PostI'm not 100% positive but i believe the a1 ecu is slightly different then the a6 ecu. Oh and for the LAST TIME, it's VTEC!
Not V-tech, not v-tech, not V-TEC, nor is it V-tec, not even V TEC, or v tec or VTAK or V TEK or v-tek or any other way it is ALWAYS being misspelled.
VTEC
VTEC
VTEC!

/End Rant.

The F22A6 ECU is the PT6 ECU. It is the slightly more aggressively tuned ECU. It is made this way to compensate for the more aggressive cam in the A6, as well as operate the IABs. It has no speed governor at all.Originally posted by steelbluesleepR View Postcorrect, the a6 ECU has a slightly more aggressive map to take advantage of the more aggressive cam in the motor. i'm not positive, but i believe it also has a higher speed governor or none at all.
