ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    He should listen to you.

    The F22a head flows better.
The F22b "vtec" is fucking useless for performance. It's not for power, it for fuel economy.

I don't think there is a DIY thread for it... because it's absolutely useless.

Tell him to look up DarkCloud's F22B1 swap DIY (it's a "sticky" in the Swaps section) for all wiring issues. Most of the wiring will be associated with the head.

As for mounting it to the block, tell him to compare head gaskets, and he'll see the differences, if there are any.

Another victim of the VTEC gimmick. Sad
Tell him that since he absolutely MUST have VTEC, that you'll take that F22A head off his hands for him! Put a little money into it, and you can have a hell of a head built from it.

Make your own thread. This has NOTHING to do with your car or your engine. Please do not change the subject of someone else's thread. That will get you banned very quickly.

No one is sure because not many people are dumb enough to do the swap.

My guess would be the f22b1 head gasket, but then again, I don't know, as I have never been an advocate of doing performance decreasing mods.

like everyone else is saying.....if i were you, i would just sell that head and try to get as much out of it as possible and try to get another f22a head. They are only like $40 these days...

Here is a link to the B1 swap for ya! Tell him that if he wants a little more power out of that grocery getting VTEC. He will have to spend $300 and upgrade to a F22V cam from F22parts. No valve train upgrade necessary for that cam. Or he could move up to a $350 cam + springs & retainers and try the VTEC level 2 from Bisi.

Or spend 100 on a delta 272 and make more power with the f22a is another option!

Remember that if your talking stock vs stock or engines with equal bolt-on mods. The non VTEC F22A6 will just run equal to a stock F22B1. It's only once you open up the intake ports & valves that the F22A may run the F22B1. Not trying to start shyte, just being realistic.

                            Healthy F22A1 = 125 hp
                            Healthy F22A6 = 140 hp
                            Healthy F22B1 = 145 hp

Very true. Stock vs. Stock, the F22B1 is the more powerful engine.

However, I'd be much more supportive of a full F22B1 swap than a headswap. At least then you can expect it to be reliable, which is one of the two strengths of the F22B1...
