ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    Radiator cooling fan not working...

I have replaced all the sensors on the block that it could possible be.
I even made sure It had a ground by adding another ground wire from the fan to the body.
Today when I had the car running I pulled the number 2 fuses under the dash because the wireing diagram said it connected to that some how also.
Well when I unhooked it the motor died then both of my fans came on.
The condinsor one works when the motor gets to hot.
But the only time the radiator one worked was when I pulled the number two fuse.
Anyone have an ideal of what could cause this?
Im think its the Cooling fan timer unit but I would like to know what you guys think.

I forgot when I turn the key off the Radiator one works to a point. If its really hot it stays on for a while and if its kind of kool the fan kicks on and off frequently and eventually it will go off. I had a problem with it once before where the fan stayed on so long the battery died.

I like it running all the time when i turn my ignition on so since my sensor went bad, so i just cut the connector and crimped the two wires together, i like it better knowing its on all the time while my engine is running, but thats me..

Well I have a switch hooked up for now and thats what I do is run it when I start the car and turn it off when I stop. But I want it to work that way it keeps the car cool and when I turn it off if the car is still a little to hot it will come back on. Plus I have a problem remembering to either turn the fan off or on. Lol I already blew up a radiator because of forgetting to turn it on and ran down my battery a few times forgetting to turn it off. That stuff isnt fun so I would like to fix it to where I dont have to worry about it any more.

It sounds like its working properly minus it staying on until the battery died. If that's the case then your temperature sending unit may be busted making the ECU think the engine is still hot when its not, which keeps the fan on.
You could also have some heat issues, maybe air in your cooling system causing the computer to be fooled. Do a coolant change lately?

As long as the rad fan comes on when the engine reaches mid temp then it is working (the relay is kicking on). And it sounds like its turning off.

Are there any times when it just will not turn on , although the engine has been running for 20min?
Are there any times when it will not turn off still, when its obvious the engine is cold?

edit: there's no chance your condensor fan and rad fan wires are backwards? (condensor hooked to fan power/signal & rad fan hooked to condensor power/signal wire.)

I have a quick question....standing infront of the car...the fan on the left turns on and off when it needs to...the fan on the right however I don't think I've EVER seen it turn on...anyone else come across this? I take it they are for different purposes eventhough they are mounted and do the same thing pretty much.

One is the rad fan, and the other is the A/C condenser fan. Your rad fan keeps turning on which is good.

That would make sense seeing as I've only used my A/C like 3 times...lol

Would putting a relay in and getting them both to turn on when the coolant needs them be a good thing?

I mean there are 2...and we hardly ever use the right one.

                  Just tossin it out there...

Could your cooling fan relay be bad?
