ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Fuel system

Today i pulled out my fuel tank. I hooked the fuel pump up to the battery while it was in a bucket of gas to test if it worked. It works fine. I barrowed the main rely from my freinds 92 dx automatic coupe. The car wouldnt start and the fuel pump wouldnt turn on. I have no idea where to go from here.

    I hate this car.

have you checked all the fuses. it seems that the relay isnt getting power try and check the power wire of the main rely

so it cranks, but just doesnt turn over from no fuel? I second the lack of power to the relay. seeing as you bucket tested your fuel pump successfully its got to be that. progress man... dont hate her she cant help it.

Check/clean your grounds. Like the one to the thermostat.

The easiest way to check if your not getting fuel is to take off the intake hose going into the throttle. Then get some starting fluid and spray in there, maybe have a friend spray while you start it. If it starts then you know your not getting fuel. Then check all fuses, and go from there; power and ground to pump, power to main relay, etc.. I would verify fuel problem first.

            Alright...

Are main relys between coupes and sedans different?

I tried 2 main relys, One from a 92 DX coupe and one from a 93 EX coupe ( the dx was automatic the ex is manual )

Both failed to start my car

I needed a new main relay anyways because i tried to open it up and broke it. I got a main rely from a 9293 LX 5 speed sedan. Now my fuel pump is working again ( at least it turns on when i switch the key to the on position )

Im really stumped. Im mad too that it wasent the fuel pump because i took the whole fuel tank out.

hi i would check for 12v at the main relay, then at the yellow wire behind the rear seat .you should have 12v at the yellow wire before it goes thought the floor behind the seat w/the key on ..i`m going to put a pump shut-off in my cb, and make the connection under the carpet for it

if your fuel pump is running now when you turn on the key, the you need to check for spark at the plug wires ,if your car is a 90-91 with the ign coil inside the dist they fail without warning, ......

I know the problem was fuel by removing the fuel filter inlet after the car died once. It wouldnt get fuel and you couldn't hear the pump turn on. The next day it would be fine though?
