ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Did you perhaps buy a car with a broken timing belt ? Is the distributor rotor actually turning when you crank the engine. If not, the belt is broken.

Why would you buy a car that won't start ???

If the cam snapped the belts can be perfectly lined up and the dizzy obviously wont turn

Take off your distributer cap, and look to see how the rotor under the cap is oreintated, maybe make some marks with a marker, put the cap back on, crank the car, take the cap back off, and look to see if the rotor has moved, or changed orientation.

Otherwise you can take off the timing belt cover and see if your the belt is snapped.

well you need 3 things for fire. fuel spark and air. if you are getting fuel and spark and you are SURE you are getting them then it must be a problem with air.

you might not have adequate fuel pressure. you might want to "rent" a fuel pressure test kit from autozone to make sure you are getting enough fuel. idk if this will help or not just a suggestion.

whoever said check the ignition coil in the steering column i think you mean the ignition switch. since the ignition coil is inside the distributor.

you dont need a fuel pressure tester, loosen the nut comin out of your fuel filter, dont remove just loosen, then turn the key on, your fuel pump SHOULD run for 3 sec, and it should spray gas everywhere with that nut loose. if it does spray gas then u got pressure. recomended fuel preasure is 35-41 psi ive fired my car up with as little as 12 psi.

the 90-91 came with internal coil

the 92-93 came with external coil

like deev said if its not getting spark check the ignition coil and the igniter, both inside the distributor. when my car was not getting spark it was the igniter. it was $50 for a new part at autozone.

Is there power goin into the coil? If you dont have a volt meter I would visually inspect the igniter, theres usually some physicall evidence, thats if your strapped for cash in a perfect world you would replace coil, cap, rotor, and igniter for the sake of reliability
