ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

How Many miles are on it? I've heard our fuel pumps rarely go bad, but it could be the relay? I know on my old Dodge conversion van, the car dying out at about half a tank was definitely symptoms of a fuel pump, but i haven't heard of many people reporting their cb fuel pump going bad. Could be. There are def procedures out there for testing your fuel system. Here are some basic techniques that were simply outlined in the sticky.

So definitely check everything else before you rip the tank out and see if your pump is bad (ie: relay, fuel regulator, injectors). Hope this helps some! I'll also see if I can't find some about fuel system diagnostics...

lol, the fuel pickup probably fell off. if it runs absolutely perfect above half tank, im pretty sure it is the pickup. i installed an aftermarket pump and the fuel pickup was too short by about an inch and the car began to cutout around 220 miles on a tank.

witnessed it on a mazda 626 because they use a series of plastic connectors and it fell off which made the car stumble below half tank.

The fuel pressure is fine. I'm going to let it run under half tank again and see if it acts stupid again filled it up a couple hours ago. Ill let you guys know if it does it again. I checked all the injectors are fireing fine, ran compression test 160 straight across the board. Seafoamed it,and put some gumout injector treatment in it and advanced my distributer a little, seems to be running better. I'll let you guys know if it runs dumb again afterwards

I also checked my fuel pressure regulator I took the vaccum line off from the plenum and it didn't smell gassy so that's good too..

So after your gauge gets the halfway point the car stalls out until you add more gas. How many gallons of gas does it take to "fill up the car" when the gauge says halfway? I'm thinking the problem is with your gauge itself, or at least the float in the tank is messed up. I'd get about 300 miles to a tank when running my a/c on the car. I would also do a full tuneup on the car, as you should be able to drive farther on a full tank.
