ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    egr ports

Just got done doing the egr port cleaning job, its like the third time I've done it. But, my check engine light came on, and threw error code 41. Did I miss something. Clear out the tcu twice and got the same code. Im gonna be tick off if I need to back in there. Shit! help help.

41 is the oxygen sensor. It has nothing to do with the EGR ports.

Replace the sensor with an NTK or Denso unit. Do not use Bosch.

4real? I got four long flashes and one short blink at the end. Am I reading it right, 40 or 41? Is there a place in here, so I can look up the code and clarify it? Thanx

Crap, forgot to mention that I had to drop the entire exhause pipe to remove some rusty ass bolts to replace the muffler. Took it off at the exhaust manifold, I did not touch the 02 sensor, my o rings look in good, so I kept them in. Would a possible exhaust leak register a 40 or 41 error code?

No. Replace your o2 sensor. Trust me.

Or at least make sure you hooked everything back up properly.

the exhaust leak before the o2 would have to be totally severe to set off a 43, not a 41...i believe a 41 is a heater circuit for the o2.

Its a 41 not a 43. Im good with that clarification. O ring? I meant O ring gasket that are found between exhaust piping where u bolt them together.

K, Im back and still dealing with this issue. Swap out O2 sensor, and still throwing code.
Im thinking of poping out the egr ports again. I gotta feeling Im missing somethig or did not clean everything out. How do get those egr cap plugs off, the ones you get from the stealership? Drill & tapp out also?

After you swapped the o2 sensor, did you reset the ecu by pulling the backup/radio fuse or disconnecting the battery for 5-10 minutes? Otherwise the code your seeing is what is stored from when your old o2 sensor was bad.
