ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    F20a Sohc

I drive a 93' Accord. I've read that the f20a shares the same block as the f22a6. So when purchasing performance parts do I purchase parts for the a6..?! Also, has anybody built an f20a n/a and has a decent amount of power made an would like to share their build with a new kid on the block..

so do you have the f20a in your car now? if so, buy parts for your engine specifically. a lot of the parts may transfer over, but its better just to buy specifically for what you have.

if your looking for power, stick with the f22a6. it, along with many other, are far superior to the f20a

The F20 sohc share's the same head as the F22ax. So if your thinking about cams, headers etc. Then your good to go.

^^ i have to thank Mr. Deevergote on that one

The block is not the same. The F20A block has an 87mm bore and 88mm stroke, whereas the F22A has an 85mm bore and 95mm stroke.

deev, I just measured my pistons on my F20A and they are 85mm. The blocks are identical as well.

Then you should probably head over to wikipedia and edit the information there... because that's where I got it!

I'm usually good about double-checking information I don't already know for sure before I post it... this time, I trusted one source. Not smart on my part!

Surprising enough, you got the bore right on in another F20 thread.

I probably did proper research before posting that time!
It's all just numbers to me. I don't have any hands-on experience with that stuff yet. Soon, I hope... whenever I get around to ordering pistons for my project H22, I'll need to know what I'm doing!

F20A has DOHC and SOHC variants, the DOHC is bore 85mm stroke 88mm and the SOHC is bore 87mm stroke 88mm

So what makes the DOHC better..The fact it has two cams, which makes it possible for better tuning..

The only F series motor in front drive configuration that doesn't have an 85mm bore are the F23s. (S2000 are not even the same block.)

87mm was for the H series motors.

Was the F20B a true "F series" or was that closer to an H series?
Dammit... now I feel like a noob! Gotta learn somewhere, I guess!
