ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Stranded, Car doesn't Start

Community, i was headed home after going to the junk yard, as i was driving the car sputtered horribly and shut off, and did not want to start back up, i was stranded for 7 hours on the side of the road, til TRIPLE A came!

Luckly i had some extra knowledge with me my friend blubb2 and his brother, the problem rite now and what we found is, THERE IS NO SPARK WAT SO EVER.

On the spot we changed the ext coil to 2 other diff ones, checked for spark and nothing, we then changed the dist and still NO SPARK, it will crank and crank but will NOT start.

What else can i look for, maybe Ignition switch??

    thanks.

ignighter in the distributor .... they tend to go bad after all these years. The one from advance or pep boys last about a year and cost around 60-80 dollars ...

the ones from Honda last about 10+ years and are around 120-150 ...

get the genuine Honda one if your planning on keeping the car for a while ...

In Need of an engine, just a basic f22a...pm me if you have one willing to part with.

Josh, we should check with my H23 dizzy I have in my garage, maybe my fuse 30A fuse in the coil plug didnt work...however it does work for my JDM motor. Also heres the thing, we checked spark off the external coil itself and got nothing but then again we switched it out for 2 others and STILL got nothing.

I encountered this same problem. It ended up being my igniter and coil. The 20 year old plug wires set up so much resistance that the coil burned through its coating instead of going to the plugs, and once it did, I'm guessing it fried the ignitor jumping all the voltage around in the distributor housing. Bummer deal, but with a Neighbor like Juan, I got a good ignitor and bought a new coil from Shmucks O'smileys, and I was back on the road after a week and a half of honda-less-ness. Hope this helps

Alrite good thinking, although its most likely not the culprit but it wouldnt hurt to check. As far as grounds is there one near the thermostat housing?? We are going to try another dizzy soon. Im honestly leaning towards ignition switch as the cause, What do you guys think?

Maybe the timing belt snapped? Did you check to see if the rotor was spinning when you turn it over?
