ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    3" Drop. What Else?

Is A 3"R and 3.25"F Drop Too Low For Being Just Shocks And Springs? What Else Would I Need For My Car To Ride Smooth Without Any Wheel /Tire Scraping? I Dont Really Know What Camber Kits, Tie Rods, And Control Arm Bars Do. Someone Explain?

Camber kit. Ingalls or SPC ONLY. Cheap crap will break, and put your life in danger.

If you didn't replace your shocks, do so NOW with parts that can handle both the height and spring rate. Koni STR.T should be the absolute cheapest you get for anything that low.

If you're using cheap springs... replace them.

Don't screw around with your suspension. Your life rides on that. Cheap parts will result in poor handling and braking. On a regular ride to the store, fine... but when you're tearing around a turn, or a little kid chases a ball out into the street in front of you... your car will not respond as you need it to.

You WILL need an alignment after doing anything to your suspension.

A camber kit will allow for camber adjustment (google "camber" for a description of what that is.)
Tie rods are the parts that allow for toe adjustment (again, google...) This is the part that is most commonly adjusted when an alignment is done. You don't need anything but a functioning OEM part.
Control arm bars? You're making up parts. There is no such thing.

Sprint Extreme springs are no longer made and are extremely difficult to find nowadays. Just saying.

Tokico Blues are not made for springs like that. They're barely more than stock replacement... only good for a spring rate that is 15% stiffer than stock, and certainly not for a drop that low. They're not made to handle a drop lower than about 1.2" (the springs that Tokico pairs with them only lower about that much... maybe even less... that 1.2" was merely an estimate.)

wow thanks for the link, i really dont know much about suspension. makes me rethink what setup i should look in to. i want my car to handle comfortably, ride height pretty low, and handle better than OEM. cant afford full coilovers. i dont want my ride bouncy and harsh.

With that type of drop range it is going to have to be on coilovers....

I would say function and forms or even some megan racing coilovers. Along with this a camberkit is needed as stated above. Ingalls will do just fine. Cheap brands won't do at all. Also an allignment is needed after all is said and done.
