ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    h22 build questions

Hey guys. I believe I have introduced myself on the forum but if not I'm mark. I'm a honda enthusiast and got my cb about 6 months ago or so for 370.00 with 230+ unkown miles on the clock and some nasty rear quarter rust. But she is a trooper and like my ba4 I plan to restore her. I'm still in the midde of my boost / restore / 4ws build on the lude so cash is tight atm but being a mechanic and helping people with their builds got me a free h22a4 with trans and hydraulic lsd. My questions for the build are this.
I want to keep it mild since its my daily but its not in my nature to drive a stock car lol.
So I was thinking do a mild valve job. Rebuild with some type s pistons and slap a jrsc on there for a lil extra pep. My question is what would be a good set of cams for this setup and what other mods or upgrades would you reccomend on the way? Already have decent exaust. What is a decent yet lower priced adj dampning coilover setup or whatnot for the cb? And are the ebay rear quarter panels worth a shit? Any advice is welcome and if you don't like what I have to say then please don't post. Id like to keep this thread to constructive crit and advice please. And thank you in advance for all your help.

Side note if anyone has a jrsc for sale pm me

Also I have searched extensively and haven't found any definate info on the h22 jrsc. I see that the firewall and brake master may need some relocation / modification. But I think I can find my ways around that. But if anyone has a link to a useful thread with some good info about getting that in there please post up a link for me. Flying blind is okay but ill never turn down any good info on the subject.

Anyone from pp.com in here btw?

There is only one CB that I know of that's done it:

There used to be pics of the engine bay on this site, but they must have been deleted from the host site (just red Xs now ). I've heard the strut tower is in the way too, btw. And you might find it hard to track one of these babies down - at least new - I assume they've been discontinued, considering JR has revamped his site and all you can find there now is Rotrex centrifugal blowers.

I was seriously considering doing this myself, but then just recently solidly decided on all-motor since my goal is only about 250whp, 300 tops. It would be a waste of a boost for me, having all that potential and running it at really low pressure.

But, oh, such a sweet sweet whine.

Ed. - I suppose a remedy to that belt/pulley clearance with the strut tower could be to modify the blower mount. Raise that shaft that connects the charger belt to the crank belt so it clears the strut area, then either lift the rear end of the hood with spacers, or put a bulge in the hood (either like an Eclipse, or those old Chevy aftermarket hoods that look like backwards scoops), depending on how much clearance is needed.

Who knows, maybe one day if I get tired with natural aspiration I'll try and track down a JRSC.

Thanks cyborg. In the video it doesn't appear the shock tower needs any modification however its of such a low quality its hard to tell.
I gotta say I'm shocked at the lack of responses to my questions lol.
Has no one tried the replacement quarters?

With a suprcharger youre not going to want the type s pistons. Stick with stock. It will be a lot friendlier to tune (The lower static compression ratio is alt friendlier to a fuels knock limit, and timing). Also, I wouldnt go the FMU route. Get a chipped P28 or the like... WIth some bigger injectors its a recipe for W1N (If you INSIST on not going turbo),

. Also, You dont need cams with the Supercharger.... Use the boost to make power... St6ock compression ratio responds just fine out of boost anyways. You dont need the extra compression of the Type S pistons, it can hurt you alot more than help.

Im making a tad above 750 WHP on stock JDM cams. SOme are making well over 8. Of course theyll help, but if you search around youll find some people have shit tons of issue with putting cams in H heads... If you do, I must suggest NOT going to oversized valves as well... I thought hard about putting S2P1s in my car, and it would have helped the top end a bit, but the cars making 575 ft lbs of tq on 35 PSI and OEM cams with 9.5:1 compression and a BB 67mm turbo.

WOndering if you no BA4turbo or B20LUDA (Mitch) with the white 3rd gen lude with a H swapp thats making about 610 on pump/meth...... (Also has a black Kouki 240 with a RB25 swap and GT30 R on it thats beautiful). Hes a really good friend of mine.

Bit of input: I asked about cams in a topic in the NA section about Bisi's cams. Randy said he would recommend their turbo cams, vs NA cams, for a supercharger. So, if you don't want to stick with stock...

Pro 1s if you dont wasnt to stick to stock, since they (stock) dont work ... Of course Randull is going to reccomend his own shit, hes a salesman....

genius - i know them but not personally. i have chatted with them on the site however. cool people but everyone on pp.com can be moody or bitchy lol.

i will stick with stock cams then. ill just find some type s cams. for cheap. i do really want to go higher compression however. it will make the 8lbs roughly or so you get with a jrsc more potent. i know it will be harder and more expensive to tune but i really think it will shine. i could be wrong however. im trying to do the research on pp.com about that. if its been tried and failed a number of times ill pass for reliabilitys sake. however i am one to like to do things differently. if you read up in my build thread on pp you will see that lol. anyways. no fmu i have a spare p28 socketed already i was going to install a demon in for the h22 job. the reason i want to sc is because sc performs well at low boost on a mild na build. hence the type s pistons idea and a jrsc. i sort of figured the cams would be somewhat useless as i have had a friend try a number of different cams that havent made enough difference to merit the tuning and price of the cams.

thanks so much for the input guys and its always nice to meet friends of pp.com ppl. any other advice?
