Any negative camber will still cause wear, but how much wear is relative to how much negative camber.
A lowered car with camber corrected to 0 degrees will usually have the upper control arms hitting the fenderwell... aside from modifying the fenderwell to prevent that, another option is to run -1 degree of camber. The wear with that much negative camber is minimal.
