ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    oil light reply

sounds like your oil sensor wire is loose or the wire is pinched..

Id swap the whole sensor since its easy and inexpensive.I had a problem like that once and once I swapped the sensor it never reoccured again.

i also had a problem like this before and mine turned out to be the oil pump....but i would check and change the sensor as stated above, before assuming that its the oil pump.

Means low oil pressure. Could be caused by a faulty sensor, your low on oil or the oil pump is going bad.

"Too much" oil bogs the motor down, though "too much" is really a subjective term. I don't know how much oil is too much.

Your flashing light is a result of your integrated control unit mounted above your Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Block counting the number of seconds the oil pressure switch circuit was connected to ground. You may have not noticed, but the light was solid for a moment, and then it went to flashing. What grounded the circuit should be determined with certainty.

                    1. First be sure you have enough oil, assume the switch is doing its job.
                    2. Check for any shorts in the circuit, your ICU cannot differentiate short from low oil pressure.
                    3. Check for proper switch function, remove the switch (zero PSI) and see if it makes a good connection to ground.
                    4. I would not suspect the ICU until I've checked everything else, but if all else fails, swap it with a known working unit and test drive the vehicle.

is the oil pressure sensor under the distributor? is it possible for oil to leak out from there? assuming you have normal oil pressure, and there was a small leak at the oil pressure sensor, could it spray up causing oil to accumulate on the bottom of the distributor?

I had the same problem when i got my cb a yr back! Check your oil pressure out! If the light is blinking it could be a faulty sensor but dont take that lightly! It could be the sensor and the oil pump! My oil pump went and the light was on 15 miles of driving after i had bought it from dude engine went!

Something that wont cost much and can do in a day could cost you a motor n $!

The oil pressure sender is right above your oil filter.

sounds to me like a bad sensor man i would get it checked out as soon as possible casue it could also be the sending unit its self and that casues lots of problems along with possibly having to replace a shot motor man... best of luck
